The obvious thing is to say try both but run them on the 2097 with med header not the long one as supplied in the combo's.

We run the SLS3 with probably med distance tracks (40-45 sec) and milage is critical and the 3 gives better milage and more low down punch.Only thing is the 3 runs without ceramic as STD.

It will be good to hear which you prefer.

What's the difference between med and long header?

are you talking about the compact v2 version?

I will try both of them I think :)

Coming from e-buggy (racing for 4 years now) I was surprised to achieve the best laptimes with the most powerful engines in nitro.. It's weird for me considering iI always looked for very gentle motor response in electric. Maybe the progressivity of the clutch is part of the explanation.. and the MP9 too, which is very easy to drive even with a strong engine (I used to drive more nervous cars before)

Is there any difference in performance between an used and new pipe? And is there actually a way to clean a pipe?

Noob questions I know but I just began nitro a few months ago.

edit: a french RB driver is suggesting the 198P manifold with the 2097 pipe (SLS Di5 engine), did anyone here try it?

up,

need some advice to choose the best manifold with a SLS Di5 + 2097 pipe :)

I'll be racing on medium tracks mainly

I would use the RB ParaVSM on the 2097 ....or even a Novarossi 41001..........Those 17.6mm stroke Nova's/RB's like the short manifolds...

Thanks Neal, I'll look at them :)

Any thoughts or experience on a WS7 2 with the THG02 Truggy pipe? Thinking of trying this. Currently running the Losi sport pipe(8ight 2.0 rtr pipe) which has been absolutely beastly strong. Also any thoughts on turbo head button? Worth it or not?

venturi for rb bx (old)

hi,

I've bought this engine for my buggy, a new one:

http://www.ebayhpirccar.com/images/img/rbd01012-bx.jpg

the original venturi is 7mm. Which venturi do you mount? 6, 6.5, 7?

I need at lest 8 min mileage.

Leave the 7mm in until at least 6 litres or a 1 1/2 gallon of fuel has been through the motor and see what run time is like then, should easily get 8 min with the 7mm in but will only do this when the engine is fully broken in all metal pinch is gone.

My friend just grabbed a RB S5 L2G engine, can anyone give me feedback on it? Couldn't really find alot of info. And also does anyone know of a turbo head button that will fit ?

Keep the 7mm in and through the 6mm away .You'll get 9min to a tank with that motor .Ive even seen 10min to a tank.If you want to buy another one then the new designation is BXR LS5.

What's the deal with the 2045 pipe? I had the chance to sell the 2041 Turbo I had on my modded Beat B5, which IMO was soft on bottom but good on top, so just threw on an old 2045 I had laying around in its place. I was hoping to test today, but as usual this year, I didn't get around to testing it.. Anyway, is the 2045 good for power?

(I got the 2045 in a used engine deal, and it's been laying in a drawer ever since. I've never run a 2045....)

The 9901 works best on the 5 ports, 2045 maybe okay, 2 what header on the 2045 do u have?

Excited to be selling and modifying the Rb engines! Rb is making a big comeback in the Usa. Awesome looking engines.

Very keen to hear about the Rocket.....

As for RB in general, it's a shame the Blasts are done. I personally have no interest in $300+ SLS5R+cubed engines etc.. So I'm still interested as long as they continue to offer the budget engines... Which unfortunately seem to come in ever more limited numbers...

I've got a new V15 sitting around here I might send out to be modded at some point....
