Hi Neil, pls don’t view my criticism as negative it’s really just the experience we had this side of the pond and to make the criticism cost me a shit load of money because I buy engines and give them away(to my driver) so every time the result is not satisfactory I feel it on my pocket 
I am glad you have found the sweet spot and have put the effort into the engine but I am comparing STD engines when making my critique. I am also not surprised you changed exhaust port timing as it looked aggressive but that’s only looking not measuring.
I still feel that after this weekend I’m probably going to come back here and say we going SLS3 or we going back to LS5 effectively last years BX.

Also the other stumbling block I have here is by the time the engine lands it retails for about the same as its competitors (os speed,Bullit 219 Reds) so having say you mod it before hand would kill the price.

Use a shorter manifold...the included manifolds with these engines absolutely murders the power..use the shortest manifolds you can find, it will wake the engines up quite a bit...

Now the price of my modified is very high compared to those you mentioned...however those engines are not competitors to my version at all in terms of performance and speed.....

I have been running a BXR for over 2 years now and it has been epic.
At the start with the standard RB pipe the engine was good.
Then I changed fuel from byrons to werks and put a 2058 pipe on and WOW, Bottom end was a lot stronger and top end increased aswell, also got about 80 sec more run time, power delivery was very linear so ticked all the boxes.

So if anyone has a BXR try this combo...its that good:nod:

markmad777 08-14-2014 09:47 AM

Neil ,we do use the short header and RB as it makes a significant difference.RB will on request exchange headers before shipping a combo.

Barnz, you must be using the previous gen engine which I agree is the business ,though we have been discussing the new SLS5 with the longer stroke.

Anyone have any feedback on the Kanai edition? Figured Amain sold a lot so someone must have tried it out. Also, what is the "roddage" version that Amain had that cost so much more? Curious to hear any input as I didn't have a chance to run mine due to our track closing

Rodage is pre run in.
There is a guy at our track who had one, seemed ok but nothing to rave about.

Looking at a Blast V20 for oval racing......Big oval full throttle most of the time. Any thoughts....I have no idea.....lol
Comes with a 2045 pipe.....so loose the manifold and go with a nova ???
Or I have 086, JP3 and OS2060.....
Or just get the magic werks 2058????
So many options its hard to may a choice.

18to88, look at the Rally engine or SLS5 though the v20 will do but the latter will be better.

Just some feedback .We ran SLS3 with ceramic so essentially we took a SLS5 and put a SLS3 piston and liner into it as there was no time to still get a consignment of SLS3's and change bearings.

End result is this will be the engine we will be stocking as it checked all the boxes, torque we were looking for ,enough top end and was economical .
Final spec .As mentioned SLS3 with ceramic main, medium header , 2097 pipe ,7mm venturi qualified 3rd and ran the final faultlessly to come second at the Midrand national.

The 7-port Blast (forget which number..) is apparently the same as the Rally..

So....., which RB plug is closest to the NR C6TGC?......

Maximo 08-18-2014 10:31 AM

the Blast V20 and Rally X are the same engine .......I would use a 2097 on a PARAVSM manifold

Thanks, maybe I'll put it up for sale then. surprised at the cost difference the Rodage was over the standard one. Wish I got the Clocked Rally instead

Herrsavage 08-25-2014 10:40 AM

So is there any enthusiasm at all for the Blast V19 or V21, or is it just the 7-port V20/Rally that rips?

travertini 08-26-2014 08:02 PM

Does the blast v12 use a cast or cnc piston ?? Anyone ?

)EIB( 08-29-2014 07:32 AM

Is the RB Blast V19 Limited Edition any good? what other engine is it comparable to in its stock form?

BillyT. 08-29-2014 09:17 AM

I run a 19 in my truck. No complaints. 15 in my buggy. Also, no complaints.

I don't mess with the needles. Plug when it needs it... just fire it up and run.
