1.) RB Fire Combo, €175 shipped
2.) Nova P5XLT, €165 shipped
3.) Sirio C7LB combo (don't know which pipe) €185 shipped..

I'm thinking the Fire has the best power there?.... Do people really race with Fires though? Don't seem to see them much..

I race a fire 11 in my truggy and it is great. Where is that combo?

German shop.. Looks like they're being sold off...

Seems pretty hard to beat in terms of value for money. Even comes with the little front bearing cover(and 2045)...

The best way to find out, is to remove it and measure it yourself, no second guessing.

Those bearings are 14.5x26x6 just like the bearing in the Bonito.

All I now is, the Fire is too much for a buggy. But, we have one driver in Denmark, who runs it in his buggy. I just see too many RB drivers struggles with there engines. I don't like Sirio based engines. Bad rear bearings and carb. I'm a Novarossi man, and I know that many other drivers has amother opinion :D

Well, my Fire 11 is still going strong.. And I think I still want that Blast V8, so I'm going to do my best to not give in.. For now anyway..

aznitronut 01-21-2013 12:35 PM

The F11 engine is a Nova based engine, not sirio based, at one time Sirio has or had owned RB, known as Star motors Co.Not sure if they still own them. The Killer 9 engine line I believe was Sirio based.

Herrsavage 01-21-2013 12:43 PM

The Killers were Asian-built engines - Force I think..

The Fires, and all the Blasts are Novarossi-based..

I only mentioned Sirio because I found a deal on a CL7B, and I always heard (and saw..) good things about them.

But just for shxx's and giggles, what about the new BX and BXR? I assume they are made with parts from the Nova factory, but how similar is a BXR for ex. to a Bonito?

Not sure of any comparison with the Bonito engine, I only know of 1 person that ran the BXR, and wasn't real happy with it, and he was a Nova sponsored driver before that.

You always heard good things about Sirio? The SIrio CL7B-STI .21 was supposed to be good. But didn't they have crankshaft breaking problems. I seem to remember SuperTib getting into an argument about it. Seems Sirio drilled them too deep. Anyway, a friend had one. Front seal went at an early age. After replacing, the crank broke at the front.

Herrsavage 01-21-2013 01:38 PM

I seem to recall that it was more a bad batch kind of thing.. I think they've always been pretty popular over here - and what I've seen of them running anyway was pretty convincing..

I only found out about the Sirio deal because I told another guy about the Fire 11 deal, and he was like, nnnnaaaaa, Sirio is so great, lasts forever, huge power, etc etc.. There used to be a guy here at rctech who was really big on Sirio engines.. - somewhere in Europe.. Forget his name, and haven't seen him around lately..

ps I HATED my (Sirio-built) Orion .24...

I have run the P5xlt, fire11 and BXR.
Fire11 is just a beast but seems to be a wee bit to much for me with the power delivery in my serpent truggy but still loved it..great on fuel.
BXR i am running with the 2087pipe and 198 header which proberly isnt right but its a great linear power easy to get the right throttle input and goes really good top end is close to the Fire but a bit more responsive...not as good on fuel but alright
P5xlt is a CRE modded...just awesome like the best bits of the fire and BXR put together...but i can drive faster with the BXR for some reason:confused:
