[QUOTE=Herrsavage;11153262]Not sure why people seem down on the 2087 pipe. In the vids I've seen it looks to make good power, with a nice high screaming sound..

Running a modded B11 with the 2087 in a truggy. Good power everywhere and the sound they make is addictive. Kept thinking the engine was lean by the way it sounded. Got my pit guy to stand at the end of the longest straight to make sure it had smoke. Got him to check temps just to make sure all was OK. Ended up leaning on it a couple more hours and can probably go a few more. Was thinking of trying a couple of different pipes when I first out the engine in but am more than happy with the 2087

Hmm.. Sold mine..

Got a CB(and new Speed clutch on the engine ready to go), but don't really have the "right" plug or pipe yet.. If I break in this weekend, it'd have to be a Picco #5, or Orion or Werks #6(would prefer something hotter though..) plug and either an 053, 0801, 2047, JP-4, or 2063 pipe.. - none of which I'm too keen on trying(or taking off other engines..) The 053 is the only engine-less pipe I have laying around right now.., but nobody seems to think it'd make much of a match. I only ever had it on a Caster Grenade - and it was excellent actually.. It sucked on a Mach 427 and LRP Spec 3 though..

Btw the new Fires over here anyway now come with the 2045..

A mate that I race with tried the 053 on a new Go 5 port and on a Ninja BA01 and loved it. Improved the GO run times by about a minute compaired to the GO2072. The 053 is a copy of the 9853 so there is no reason why it woud not be a reasonable pipe for the Fire. Only one way to find out.

hi

i have a novarossi 4btt.What difference can i expect from the B11?
I have one on the way in the post:) Is it more like a novarossi bonito?
And why is it that most people buy the bxr? What is the difference in performance between BXR and the B11?

im going to use it in a xray xb9.

Hey Chris, is the new RB pipe 2097 the same as the Nova 9901? it sure looks like its a copy .

Well, I've got about four tanks through the F11 now.. Picco #5, Dynamite 053, Tornado %25, Associated clutch.. Can't really say much yet, except it takes forever for the tank to empty.. My preheater sucks(or at least the two stick packs for it do..), so I've been starting it at like 160F - better than nothing.. I've been -relatively- disciplined so far, and haven't gotten on it really. But it seems like it might just be an animal .. Half-throttle it seems to rev awfully high, with more in it.. Probably not as modulated or "linear" or whatever with the 053 for serious racers, but for people like me who just want a stupid powerful engine for goofing off(and maybe a truggy race here and there..), I think it could just be a good call.. One more boring tank through on the weekend I hope, then I'm gonna' start getting nasty... Well a little bit anyway.. ;)

RB Blast V8:

http://www.rmv-deutschland.de/motore...d-edition.html

A guy on a German forum says this should basically be like a C6.. If that's so, I might get one over the winter - always heard great things about them. Would this V8 then be more powerful than a Fire? Could get both with 2045 for pretty much the same price.. Thanks.

The Blast has a 13 mm crank, basically it's a WS7. Great engine for buggy. I looked at the specs, if my memory is correct it's a 7 port intake, 3 port exhaust, short stroke engine. They have gobs of topend but a little soft on bottom.

According to the link provided.. The blast v8 is a long stroke 14mm crank... So not a ws7 for sure

Long Stroke, 5+2 port... If it's got MES, it's definitely based on the C6

hambone 09-06-2012 09:09 PM

Ok. Blast V2 is what i looked at. Didn't realize there was different versions of it.

I can get this for a good price.. If it's really like a C6(is it?), how would it stack up against a Fire? Thanks.

I have both, C6 USA and the Fire 11, but they are modified. C6 is a great racing engine with nice manners, F11 is an animal. Both are great engines.

OK, if that's the case I'd probably get another Fire..* Just breaking my F11 in now - so far so good I would say.. But I'm not blown away - yet.. It revs high, but so far doesn't seem to have the torque or punchiness of the Argus, modded Nosram RS.21RR, or Nosram 30.. - at least with the 053 pipe.. Good, solid powerful engine though, with a nice high-pitched note when it winds out.. The Nosram 30 is burlier and more fun for thrashing around though I think.. The Fire seems like it would make a nice truggy race engine.. I want something mental though - I want to have to try to control it..

I saw a guy racing buggy with a Toro Nero once, and the bug was obviously overpowered.. But man it was fun to watch.. And it was an obvious challenge keeping the power under control... Same actually with a stock Nosram RS.21RR(think Jammin JPX 21) in a stock RC8T - have watched sponsored guys have to detune them because they were just all over the place.. Made you laugh out loud though to see (and hear!) the power...

* And maybe get it modded. But to be honest, from what I have seen so far out of my modded Nosram, I am not that impressed. Break-in was easy, and the power is OK, but from what I have seen so far, stock was better(had a stock one before - same pipe, etc..) Might still need more fuel through it though, and maybe to be leaned out a tad.. It definitely does not have the insane high-pitch scream of the stock engine with the 2063 pipe..
