How is the new Fire compared to the Fire 11? Even if just on paper, should one expect more power from the newer version? The main thing stat-wise is just that the new version is a 7+2, the Fire 11 a 7+1...

New Fire:

Competition racing engine
7 ports + 2 by pass
Lightened conrod
Turbo plug
Turbo combustion chamber
14mm bi-turbo crankshaft (long stroke)
14mm rear bearing
9mm nylon carburetor with 9mm venturi included
L2G cooling head
Strengthened crankcase “black coated”
Aluminum orange anodized wrist pin
Dust protection caps

Looks like the kit version here even comes with the bearing cover for behind the flywheel...

Well, according to RMV, it's more than that..

http://www.rmv-deutschland.de/motore...oad-xtrem.html

Roughly translated, the new version "was revised on many points/in many ways"...

The carb is new too I guess. The "XTREM" version from the BXR I assume..

Well then ask RMV for the timing differences between the sleeves......see if he can tell you the differences in the port timings .......... My bet is there is no changes in the sleeve sets........ same timings, same layout, same ports.........

Got a mail back from RMV. They (Daniel Reckward, apparently) basically say the sleeve has been modified by installing the multi-exhaust system, resulting in enhanced power, and the cooling head has beel slightly modified. (rough translation from German)

Edit - not Daniel Reckward, but Matthias Reckward.

the F11 also had the MES exhaust.....as I say nothing has changed.....

edit... with RB who knows, they have multiple sleeves they use in these fire series engines.....I have cycled thru a couple dozen of the F11 engines and every one of them has had a MES exhaust....however the first couple engines had a different style MES sleeve...but only a couple, the rest have the same sleeve they show on this latest version............

Neal, in your opinion, what is the difference with the 2 sleeves, as far as performance? Fuel mileage?

the timings were identical, so the differences would likely not be noticeable......the dyno may pick up a slight difference, but on the track we they would feel like the same engine.....Of course this is referring to the two sleeves I posted......Some of the older F11's had a single exhaust port, which could have had a more noticeable difference depending on the timings used....

Have you ever fired up and ran the F11 that you bought seven or
eight months ago ? Or are you still looking for someone to tell you
what pipe will work the best for your set-up on that engine. Have
you saved up enough money to buy the right glowplug to run in it
yet ? Let's hear some feedback and or see some video of your F11
rippin it up. ..................
