everyone may not know this. but the reedy is a LONG needle type low speed. so from this, you DONT GET A TUNE OFF HSN. as the bar stays in nosel the whole throttle band, you have to stay rich enough on hsn(this is why people end up with 10+ mins and 270F)
richen HSN alot. lean LSN and adjust idle to what it should be .5 to .7max.

will give you power + speed.

the ideal temp is 240-250.

checkout the go engine thread. they tune the same...

p.s don't tell me otherwise. me an a mate just bought 3. broke in the same, tuned off low end. 220F'ish on all 3 engines(different buggys, 808, mp777WC, and a mbx5.)
after 2 hours continous running doing 8:30mins a tank(pitting with like a 3/4 of a cm of fuel left in tanks.
all have just over a gallon through them

will you end up with less run time if you tune this way cause 10 mins @270 inst that bad but 10 @240 would be the sh!t.....

let me explain, the reedy has same carb design(other then mount posistion) as the new go engines, (gx series) so i try'd tuning the same... it worked the same as the go's and they are good engines.

I have tried the new AE 2039 tuned pipe with the Reedy 121VR. The pipe really woke up the engine.

Anyone else uses the same combo?

The 2039 is the option to have. I run mine with an RE10 and is fast, I can't to get my hands on a 2039.

I have this engine/pipe combo in a RC8TCE. I read people complaining abut the lack of RPM, I didn't feel any lack of RPM with the 2039 pipe.

I have to try a 2035 tuned pipe just to see the difference between both pipes.

2039 here was running it yesterday (with my engine that hasn't even seen half a gallon yet). Was keeping up with the NovaRossi's and still had good snap out of the corners. Definetly an improvement in top end

Are you using it with a 121VR?

My 121VR is at its 9th tank and I have GREAT performances and the temp never gets above 220F. Idles well, has great powerband and now excellent top end and holds its tune perfectly.

Yea using it with the 121vr Think mine has had about 17 tanks so far (12 being run on the box at WOT, Cyrul method). Haven't a clue what temps it comes in at but it works better than the 2035 imo just because of the top end running a P4 plug too as the Reedy ones are a tad expensive for just a plug....

If your crank has lost the silicone you an sent it back to AE/Reedy for a new crank.

I`m just getting ready to break in my second Reedy 121VR, first one i stretched the con rod in under two gallons which i have figured happened during break in. I have broken in motors before but i`m by far a pro, a couple of friends have sent me there break in methods but i would like to hear from others that have broken in these Reedy motors.

You can PM me and i will send you my email address.

Any help would be great, can`t afford to be buying new motors every 2 gallons....lol

Thanks !
