REEDY .21 Nitro Engine
#991
quick question because I cant find the info anywhere, Anyone know the rear bearing size in this motor? I thought its the same size as the vspec, but that one doesnt fit. Anyone use an aftermarket ceramic bearing in this motor? I bought the tko bearing 25.4 outer diameter, and it doesnt fit, using a digital mic, the reedy bearing is about a half mm smaller

Yep, I did some reasearch, and the tko is 25.4 mm, where as the motor calls for exactly 25mm bearing, no biggie, I will send the bearing back, and get the reedy one.

I broke my motors in according to the manual, Run an rt4 or p4 plug(really the same thing) Seal the carb, In the CE, I would recommend going up to a 52 tooth spur, it will help with top end for the first gallon, after that, it wakes up and really screams, Any other questions just ask.
What did you use to seal the carb?

I use black grease to seal the carb, but I have recently used some 90 percent silicon grease which works great, and is thicker than the black grease..
I heard from jessie robinson they will be running 40% byrons at the roar nats to make power, so I will go with the 40% idea

Anyone have some advice for getting the 121 rear bearing out. I have an ofna puller and I can't get the dumb thing out to save my life.
Tried without heat
tried with localized heat
Heated it up in the oven at 300 few times 10 min intervals (should i go longer?)
Heated in the oven at 350 a few times and the damn thing won't budge
tried to freeze it and pull it out hoping the bearing would shrink around the ofna puller better..
anyone have any other tries ideas or anything
I'm rather frustrated

This is perhaps the best engine I've ever owned. The power is great, very linear. I have it with a RE10 pipe and I am really impressed so far. The power is progressively and not like a light switch. I had a couple of JPX's and the power was either on or off. This power is more controllable.

Damn, sadly the rear bearing was getting notchy today and wouldn't hold a tune with it. After 6.5-7 gallons of hard running i gotta say its been pretty damn good. Used a mates RB C6 USA..........never again. No powerband, it's like a light switch! It is faster than the 121VR in a straight line but what's power with no control
Just aswell i ordered another Reedy
Before it did start acting up i tried the 2039 combo, very nice! Lots better top end and smoother pick-up.

Yeah my reedy lasted me about 4 gallons at the most, but i had a blast with it. When i was practing at a track agaist a guy with a RB C6 I could see him almost crwal out of a trun as for the reedy I could slowly power through it. And for a beginer its great getting to know the power band. Now im in the same boat trying to replace engine bearings. My friend gave me some great advice of getting them out, and going to try it this weekend when ( hopefully I get my package)

I was really thinking about getting one of these engines after i saw ryan mayfield running his but it turns out mayfield has an O.S speed but it has the REEDY cooling head i was really disapointed

He runs the reedy. Go find pics that are posted of his car at different races. Look at the engine block. It will be black if it's a speed.
