i think so because they claim that the new design of the cooling head reduces the temp. of the engine

BD there are lots of us that run these engines with no probs, if you need a hand just approach us at the track and we can assist. Be patient with it they are very tight at new. a good tune and full power wont come till they loosen up
cheers Alex.K Power was never an issue, nor was tightness. Even after a very slow 2ltr of fuel, it would start easy, but it just wouldn't run very long. Since finding the problem, its been running well. The fault was with RB, no fault of ours. We took for granted that the needle settings were right from factory (like every engine we have had anything to deal with) |
does anyon eknow why RB used a AAC sleeve in the alpha motor instead of a ABC? ive heard alot of bad stuff about AAC
|
AAC
The AAC engines are fast . I have a zenon and love it. I never start it without heating it first. I have put about 3 gallons on mine and still can't turn it over without heating it first. With these engines you cannot ever run them lean or you will ruin them.

how do you heat at track? they have power there, also do you have to heat in summer when its like 90 plus outside? ive been wanting to try one out, but the heating deal has me stuck, unless i can find a way to provide portable heat..lol..these guys are light as well, surely you have to adjust suspension to accomandate
before I start it, I alway's pre heat it, let fully warm up before tuning |

Heat
Yes I race at a great track that has power outlets. They had the 1/8th worlds there in 2003. I heat mine with a 1600 watt hair dryer. It gets it to 170 degrees.

r3
Hi,
Anyone tried using the "maxpower turbo tuned pipe 2602" on the RB R3 ? Is there a big difference in using it versu the 2604? coz right now its the only avlbl pipe I have. thanks. |
Hi there,
I just bought a RB V12 J3. Can anyone tell me anything about this motor. Like are they easy to tune, how is mileage?, what's the best way to break them in etc etc. This is my first RB motor so i'm looking forward to it. Also what pipe is best for this motor? |
I am rebuilding and blown rb c6 for a buddy.
Pretty sure after inspection that novarossi 221p parts will fit. Can anyone confirm? |
If a 221p is what I think it is and it's an older C6 then I believe it will work.

Can someone please give me any feedback at all on these motors what ever they may be R3 or J3 |

I'm going to have to get the right pipe so i might stick to getting one of those rb ones except for 2630, thanks for that;) I will make some assumptions knowing where you mostly shop and say that you are actually getting an RB J3, not R3. These motors are based on the original V12 and are a solid mid level performer. If my information is right these motors were a special order for the Australian market so I don't think you will find anything on the RB site. Pipes to consider..... RB/Nova 2630, but you need to match this pipe with the right header. Don't be too scared to get one of these. RB 2604 is another good choice as is the 2611, which is a sirio based pipe. Once again, knowing where you shop speak to the boyz about an ATS pipe. Cheaper and it will provide you with some good results considering how much racing you do and the motor you are purchasing. Hope this helps. |

|
Nice one...
Ok so i finally picked it up. It's the V12 J3 speedline. I'm waiting to get the NT-1 so i can put it in that:nod: Can't wait:sweat: |
so you got the xray congradulation as for the engine it sure is a fast one...
|
Nah not yet but it wont be long now:sweat:
The motor looks good can't wait to see the power it puts out:nod: |
looking for screw set i cant find it
i got a RB r3 and i need a back place screw set. the part number is 01700-085. i have looked on multiple sites and i cant find. the only place i seen it is on ashfordhobby but they are out of stock. can someone help me with a link to where i can find one? is their an other screw set that is compatable?
|
Im looking for a rod, wrist pin, and clips for an R3 and cant find either, anyone know where to find??
|
If you can not get original RB parts from your local dealer, you can also try to look for novarosi parts, do not remember correct engine name, but there is one, cornoad from which complitely fits RB R3, pin and clip might as well but not sure about that as havnt tried

did rb usa get there shipment yet? i want that new circut 9 motor....
|
Just a quick question to put my mind at rest. When i'm installing the centax clutch on the v12 j3 i get the desired crankshaft length without shimming behind the flywheel, is this ok or do you have to shim it? If i do shim it i am about .1mm too short, would that be acceptable?
Any help would be great;) |
As long as the flywheel doesn't rub the case, don't shim it.

I spoke with Brìan at RB today, they did get shipment, not. Sure what they got, I'm looking for 2 new C6 cases, anyone else had problems with motor tab breaking? |
I ordered a replacement rod for my R3RC (Nova 07601) and I got a Max Power 07601, didn't think anything of it. I put the rod in, put piston and sleeve back together, and it doesn't turn over. The rod gets to the bottom of the case, and gets stuck. I took it back out, and measured the width. The Nova rod is 4.18mm and the new Max rod is 4.21mm. Now the person I ordered it from is telling me they are the same. I'm sure they are supposed to be, but i'm looking at this one and tried it and it's obviously not the same. Anybody know why this would be so off?
I replaced the rod after break in with a Nova 07601 and it worked fine. this max rod is not working. |
What size is that? .12 or .21? If it's the .12, the old mugen mt .12 rod will fit. If it's a .21, the fms 07009 is same, I think
|
I did something wrong, because now it's fine. Thanks to Sam from Kamikaze hobbies for emailing me back and forth until it was right.
|
Anybody know which shims fit under the head of the MatrixRW motor? I have some Nova shims that work on my R3RC but don't fit on the Matrix.
|
sirio shims will fit as the matrix is sirio based
