thx alot

Short tracks the RB2604 is the best , bigger tracks Nova 2652 or 2630 , The Rb2604 does work really well with the T9 on most tracks

Nitro-Racer* 08-30-2009 07:39 AM

does the T9 RC have ceramic bearings

RevMaxx 08-30-2009 08:04 PM

if you can choose between RB T9 and 353 09, which would you choose and why?

Nitro-Racer* 08-31-2009 11:40 PM

Yes the murnan T9 comes with the ceramic main bearing

T9 for me was running really well with lots of speed and very stabile performance, how ever after some 7 liters (16%) of fuel, middle rpm needle started to leak badly. Of course this can be coincident, but another dude with similar engine usage time had the same problem.
Seems that orings on middle rpm needle have to be change every 5 liters at least.

Does anyone know if the Killer9 engine is a Novarossi
based engine? The crankcase design is different than any
that I can find, made by Novarossi or Sirio. Have any
of you guys ran this engine yet? If so, please offer up
any input about the engine you can.

Matrix RB needle settings

Can anyone confirm the needle settings for the Matrix RW. Silly me did not check when I started the "run in" and the RB website says 1 turn for the LSN and 8 turns for the HSN. 8 turns on the HSN seems very excessive and when the needle is screwed out to this point it is way past the flush point (about 3mm).

Thanks

Are there any engine gurus here tonight that
may have an answer to my question?

adofly 09-04-2009 12:02 AM

Did anybody try the C9??

It's claimed to be the most powerful engine RB ever built.

So did anybody try it????

Hello from France,
the RB K9 is not manufactured in Europe.
It's a taiwanese based engine.

Au revoir.

Can anyone help me.

I purchased a second hand xray 808 and with it came a nice RB C6 L2G. Great motor very smooth. The motor came fitted with a gold coloured RB alu carb with 3 needles and idle (HSN, LSN, Mid range needle). Also has the alu venturi. As I have just rebuilt the motor I am unsure of the factory needle settings for this carb. All other C6's I have seen have a standard carb (2 needle HSN and LSN).

I have looked on the RB website and cant even see a motor that has a gold carb. It is definitley an RB carb. Also does anyone know the factory settings for this carb and which RB engine this carb is from?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

RB Concept C12 pullstart

Has anyone used or is using an RB C12 pullstart engine?

Just on a bit of feedback on how she runs.

Cheers

The LSN is way too lean with the factory setting I had to open it half a turn (6hrs) I have the HSN set at a about 6 turns out from closed. I'm running 20% and temping 220-240F I don't run my engines very hot like others...

Relationship between RB and Novarossi

Hello,
I'm new here and I would like to understand what relationship is between Novarossi and RB engines. It seems to me, that RB takes some parts from Novarossi and makes the own branche of engine from them. Is t so?
What is the real differences between Novarossi and RB company and between Novarossi and RB engines (power, durability, quality,...) ?

Nitro-Racer* 09-22-2009 05:17 AM

i think rb designs there own engines and are manufactures by novarossi, please correct me if i am wrong, but for durability and power there are pretty much the same

I am running 16% and I was going to start with the HSN flush (which is around six turns) and 2 turns on the LSN.

Thanks for your help :)

They are both pretty much the same. You get some minor differences in things like case design, timing, crank shape and diameter, etc. Sometimes those differences make for a slightly superior motor, sometimes they don't.

What pipe are you running? I'm using the suggested RB pipe 2611 on my 720 geared 16/61 22/55 I feel like it needs a little more top end... acceleration is ok but the Max Power on my 733 is deff faster but only 5:19 runs, with the Matrix I'm almost getting 9 mins. I'm testing different glow plugs also and gear ratios and maybe I can lean the HSN a little more... :sneaky:

Mine leaked only after 1 litre, resulting in poor and inconsistent idle.

The o-ring looked fine, I used teflon tape (plumbing tape) which instantly fixed the problem.

Hey Mick, still got the Novarossi's, just running a Murnan RBM3 at the moment.

Won't be back until the next club day at Moorebank (1st Nov, I think), will be interstate. When are you coming back to Moorebank?

RB 12s from the UK

Dear all, I've just spent the last couple of hours reading the RB thread and found it most enlightening.

There's an old note about changing con rods. Pay attention to it. Our R3 was very tight when it was new. We didn't change the rod. Leading the B at the fast and flowing Halifax track, it broke halfway down the back straight. Case, piston, liner all shagged.

The T9 RC has to be tried. Ours injested a bit of grit into the front bearing seal and started sucking in air. Waiting for some BOCA specials. The engine flies, can be run very warm and the RC crank is a work of art.

We run NT1s in the British National Series. The Works drivers change engines 3 or 4 times over a weekend. We are seriously considering running Uriah's units next year. Winning comes at a cost ! ! ! but it's worth it.

My son Peter drives, all I do is build 'em and buy the bits. We like RB, the French guys are mainly racers and are very helpful.

Regards to all

Hello guyz ... happy new year...
My question is : which rb with pipe should i buy for my motonica but in a 400Euros budget... is for medium and small tracks but i need good top end and average medium end ....

staikosn1 01-02-2010 01:32 AM

Any suggestions??

Nitro-Racer* 01-02-2010 01:53 AM

As far as i know RB makes two onroad 3.5cc engines and one rally game engine. The C9 is surely out of your budget, so the only remaining option is the Classico 9. You could as well look into other engine manufacturers.

staikosn1 01-02-2010 02:43 AM

I want to be with RB cause i have the best support from the guyz there...
I was wondering is the xenon .21 is a good engine. I know is older version but i think is still one of the top engines in low budget!! isnt it?

staikosn1 01-05-2010 02:30 PM

Guyz you think RB .12 Rody 3 port still competitive?? I dont know but i love that little engine!!

I owned one many many years ago, great engine. At the time, this was easily the quickest engine. Unless your at the stage where 0.1 a lap means winning and losing, this motor should be fine.

I cant find any parts for that engine... And i dont know if fits from othe model engine!

Nitro-Racer* 01-07-2010 05:41 AM

i think the novarosi's 3sct internals are interchangeable with the r3....

I agree with the others. I owned the 3 port standard V12 Rody and it flies. It was the most reliable version compared to the Rody Tuned V12 however it was also a little bit slower. Regardless that engine fired up with ease anytime and offered consistent laps. Not sure about parts compatibility though.
