Which starter box do you guys recommend? I don't want the most expensive one, but I don't want the cheapest one either:)

Regards,

I would go with the HUDY starter box, very good quality, here: http://kamikazercracing.com/proddeta...prod=HUD104400

Which one would you recommend for a Serpent 733? It looks like not all starter boxes will fit this car..

I would recommend the Original Serpent Powerstart starter box which are still available (just need to now where to find them :sneaky:) actually, ANY chassis will work on any starter box, occasionally you just have to be creative and the HUDY starter box is a UNIVERSAL starter box, so it will work on any chassis.

Allright, I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Thanks alot for your help:)

The t9 is stock and the t9 Rc is factory modified. The t9 Rc comes from the factory with a lighten and modified crankshaft. The t9 Rc is a little faster but they both haul a$$!! Rb is the king in the .12 market as of right now.

Only remove the clutch if your breaking in the engine with a propeller. In the car use a very early engaging clutch. I like a load on the engine from idle up during break in.

Hi Grinder, thanks for the advice i found your run in page over the weekend and done it as per that. I have an RB T9 RC would have loved to purchase one yours but couldn't go past the combo set with the manifold and the 2604 pipe. i cant wait to run it. Will be trying your engine next alot of people talk about in australia.

Thanks again Michael :tire:

I use the Murnan method (prop stand) as listed on his website to break in my engines as well. However both the t9 .12 and .21 c9's that I have broken in I ended up running an additional 4 or 5 tanks at half throttle between 190 and 200 degrees before they felt like I wanted them to feel.
You will love the T9RC with the 2604 pipe, fuel miledge is very good as well.

smb17 02-27-2010 02:57 PM

Anyone know where I can find a piston and sleeve for my RB WS7III?
If anyone has anything just shoot me a PM. What plug have you guys ran back in the day with the Ws7? It's a standard plug.

got2bqik 02-28-2010 04:43 PM

What plug is everyone running in the classico 9?? Running 20% maxy's. Are there any other plugs that fit and work well??

LiL_JaSoN 05-25-2010 02:25 AM

is the RB T10 Competition worth a extra 120$ over the RB T10 Junior??

Deciding on which one.. either one is going to be modified..

thinking more towards the Junior as it is alot cheaper.. and its only going to be a club engine and modified anyway

Go with the T10 Competition.

Even the Junior modified might come up short-handed.

I'm glad to see the RBs making a comeback in onroad here in the States! The last one I had was a V12. At the time, it was a beast. The best thing about it was it had a very wide sweet spot in tuning. And it lasted for many gallons of fuel. Is the T9RC easy to tune and does it keep a tune? I see a combo package that is VERY tempting!

The RB engines are one of the easiest engines to tune.
The engine will keep tune all day without a problem.
You can't go wrong with an R3, T9 or T10.

TeamCarnage 05-31-2010 07:22 PM

Thanks, DS.
I see one of our major shops has a great deal on a combo package that's hard to ignore. GoodRacing!

big venturi purpose

Hello,
What is the purpose and the side effects, if any, of the big venturi that comes with the T10 RC?
Thanks

It accelerates and cleans up the airflow going into the carb so you will end up with a better mixture, thus more power.
The 2010 engines are really good, it's either a T10RC or a flash if you are searching for a .12 engine.

I drove against one last saturday and I must say they are fast, but not as fast as one of my RB engines.
Also it is known that the Sirio engines are hard to tune and they are fast but not for a long time.

I will be racing a RB R3 this year, so can you tell me how much im in lack of power compared to the "new line" of the engines?

The T9 and T10 have a bit more topend because of the higher exhaust port.
If I'm correct the T10RC also has a balanced crankshaft.
But an R3 would still be very competitive, actually my fastest engine (and probably the fastest of our entire class) is an R3RC from 2007. :D:lol:
It has done 11 litre's thus far but still locks up while starting if it hasn't been pre-heated. ;)
It's around 5km/h faster on the main straight as any other modded motor, including Murnan's.

Chauncey- I'm going to go to the NITRO track that's taking off in Portage IN. on Sunday. They are hosting a MWS race there 7/ 10-11. You gonna do the Byrons Race? I might need a PB.

TeamCarnage 06-03-2010 06:53 PM

Another q. I'm gonna give up my 30% nitro for 20%. With the T9, do I add a shim? Should I follow the in-car engine break-in on the RB site? I was always a heat cycle guy and have had good luck.

The T9 is shimmed for 16%. This past weekend with my R3 which also comes shimmed for 16% but I added .2 shim and ran 25% and it was very fast, barely made 5 minutes though with a 2604 pipe.

I used the heat cycle method on both my R3 and R3RC and they've been fine.

GEO 06-05-2010 12:28 AM

I also have an RB R3 that have done 26 lt. and still locks up while starting. It's my favorite engine. Now I have the new RB T10 RC and is one of the fastest engine that i have drive...:D:D

LiL_JaSoN 06-05-2010 10:06 AM
