How does the Cera compare to the other GO engines, like the new 5 port on previous page & the GO Champion, or the GO GX II Plus.?

cczjordan 01-20-2015 03:09 AM

I would say smooth power band, gx series for me a bit too brutal

ozziii 01-20-2015 02:51 PM

Oh ok, yeah I find the bottom end on mine with the 2072 pipe is pretty potent, but thats with a modified engine (GX5R) made to have a large amount of power low in the rev range, I just have to be careful with throttle control.
Have you tried any other pipes on the GO engines, I might even try my brothers REDS 2104 when I get a chance & wouldn't mind trying the newer 2013 GO pipe as well, I think that produces more mid to top end performance but would like to here from someone who has tried it back to back with the 2072.

GO 2013 is a more mid / top pipe than 2072.
The 2072 is the most versatile pipe that GO has produced in recent times.
The Werks 2058 pipe is wicked on the GX II Plus (and 5RHO) motor. Heaps of bottom through mid and extended top end.
Well worth a try.

Go used to sell the 0801 which worked very well on Go engines. Go doesnt sell it anymore but it is still available, I think it is one of the top 5 or so pipes of any brand.

Just brought my old 8ight buggy out to get it in running order to bash around last week. I have a Go 3 port R spec and it still screams. I had it oiled and stored in a Glad lock bag in a closet. I remember taking my buggy to the track and all the guys running the high dollar engines wanted to know what I was running. Just a slight fattening of the high end needle and it ran like a champ after 6 years or so sitting. I'm glad the Go's are still around, I might have to buy another one.

LosiMadman, I'm glad you got this puppy fired up and running again. I also have a Go 3 Port R spec, however I was disappointed with the power output. Maybe I have the wrong pipe..I don't know. I must admit it is a super reliable engine with a very steady ideal. Do you have the short needle carb or the long needle carb version? I think this is one of the those engines that is pipe sensitive.

Would mind sharing you pipe and clutch combo?

Thanks
