I liked the GO 2047 the best by far. the jp3 gave good power but I lost some runtime. The 086 gave more top end but the mid range suffered a bit.
the GO pipe gave good power all through the power range, from bottom to top and I gained almost 2 min of run time.

i have found that the 2047 pipe works very well on all the Go engines i have ran it on, so far ive tried it on the 21-7T, 21-5T and 28-6T...

My lightly modded 3 port sport easily keeps up with the Picco Evo 2's running at my track while still getting 9:20 mins on a buggy tank. $114 plus a $50 mod job = success.

I ran my new 5 port today with an .086 pipe. Nobody had anything over me on the straight and it was great in the infield. Temp was 220. Finished 4th in the A with this bad boy. I'm a believer in these engines!!

cant really judge any product if you buy it used because you have no idea what it has been through.
A brand new GO will last just as long as any other engine u have had, but its not a miracle engine, still have to:
break it in properly
keep it tuned (to rich or lean can hurt an engine)
keep a clean air filter
I guarantee if you do all the above you will get many many gallons out of your GO.

has other poeple had problems with the carb? new out of the box the high speed and low speed needle turn easy . i have put teflon tape on the theads but still turn easy . motor has a lean bog acts like a air leek. do i need new o rings , also about the head shim mine did not come with one in the box but when i tour into it there was two shims a thin one and one that was about twice as thick.

i just got mine in a week or so ago and the needles are good and tight?
as for the head shims, there should be three shims total, two coppers and an silver shim. only one copper and the silver is installed out of the box, you have to add the copper shim. thats strange that it didnt come with one though? mine come in the box plastic wrapped against a little square of cardboard...

Hey Colin thanks man I really like running the Hyper 8.5 it justs suits my driving style. Its great to be back running the car but I still have a few new car bugs to work out of it.
DVP where did you purchase the engine? The older engines came with that setup one .2mm shim and one .1mm shim. It really works fine and my current engine is one out of the same batch. Everything about the engine is the same as the newer batch except the head shimming. You may want to pressure test the carb for the air leak issue. I will shoot you a pm
Satoch the newer versions of the engine include a slightly higher deck ht. This was done to make the engines easier to tune and improve reliability. they feature one .2mm alumn. shim and two .1mms shims.
