grizz, it may have just been some bad fuel I know a few people run the lrp #6 without any problems, what is happening to the plugs when they fail?

Go Tech 7 Port -

Guys, I also want to post my experience with the Go 7 Port. I ran this engine with the recommended Dynamite 053 pipe. and it's fast. The straight was approximately 120' to 130' and had awesome power there, out of corners as well. Most impressive it held a consistent tune throughout races in my buggy. This engine is approaching the 3 gallon mark with great compression. Looking forward to testing the Go 2047 pipe with the 7 port.

For you guys loosing plugs for no reason I would check the deck hieght very carefully, both my 5 and 7 ports were short from the factory and killing plugs, this was taking the head/button off and measuring with a mic. NOT the lame solder in the hole method. both in a 5 port turbo and a standard 7 port. they were at ..013 and after I added .008 worth of shim to get thm into the low .020-'s no more plug problems or anything.... just rippin'. I always use medium plugs OD 97T ans MC-8's on 30% fuel. Awesome motors by the way..

dgraham225 01-04-2008 09:13 PM

yea i hear that, its impossible to pass up a sponsorship! congrats man, maybe you can take OCM to the top, i may try out their car someday, its just too hard to leave that mugen...

anyway, back to the go tech stuff, where can i find some more stickers? i got the little sticker page out the box with my motor, but wouldnt mind having some matching pairs, all 4 of the small ones are different? plus im picky as hell, lol!

i also wanted to ask, how well do the LRP medium turbo plugs hold up compared to the competition, thats the only turbos my LHS carries, and i really dont feel like making an order just for a couple plugs...

GRudinger 01-04-2008 09:43 PM

mugenb46 i sent you a pm

Rocket 42 - No obvious plug damage. Filaments are nice and silvery/white with the bottom of the plug slightly damp. Engine is running strong. Two of the plugs I found dead when trying to re-start. Run a tank through, stop engine by blocking exhaust stinger or pinching off fuel line, go to re-start engine later and she no go. Check everything and find plug has died. Weird. I might switch back to the standard button until I find out whats going on. I definitely want to run the turbo button because the motor is a lot sharper and responsive for sure with this head installed.
Re casterdriverīs post - I have killed a few plugs using the standard button, but no more than you would expect during normal bashing and racing.

Why are there no turbo heads for the .25 and .28?
If there were a .25 turbo head button option I
would make the .25 my next truggie motor.
