One of the tracks i race its very new to that video you posted. Im using more or less this setup : - .21 GX5R engine - GO 0801 pipe - Aluminum clutch show with .9 springs (x3) - 7mm carb insert, with 75% carb opening (epa) Im geting like 09.45 minutes for a tank on Buggy ... so i pit every 8 no problem. Another thing that helps on low traction and big/open tracks like that on the video, and obviously helps on fuel consumption is to go +1 teeth on clutchbell. hope this help, cya ! up a tooth on the clutchbell will help tame that beast down some. Getting the power to the ground, with less wheel spin, is going to get you better run times. I see alot of people springing there clutches way too heavy now days. Add that to a blip-blip driving style and you can forget getting any descent run times. |

i'm using now, losi stock setup, i have another flywheel with a new set of shoes, i'll use 4 alum shoes with 0.9mm |
go techs are now off the amain site, do you think they will continue to support the parts for these engines?...
is there any other online dealers that I can purchase a 5 port through? and if so, do they offer part support? (in the us) I was looking at the 5 port, combo if possible... i'm kinda new to the game, i decided the 5 port met my price/performance needs... but now that I cant find it anywhere I am wondering if I should maybe go with a different brand...????? |

We have just placed the largest order to date, and it is all 5 ports, 5 port rebuild kits, flywheels, clutches, etc. We currently have 3,5, and 7 port combos, starter boxes, cooler kits, carbs, carb seal rebuilds, inserts, cranks, cases, buttons, bearings, etc in stock. I'm running odonel medium glow plug, Brazilian Go dealer sugest me to run it. Run almost 2 galons! I guess my engine is full broken in... I got the tuning guide from Massive mods site, i'll go to the track tomorrow to tune the engine for the race. I just remove the shim because my piston was a bit darker. I have been playing with things for better fuel mileage. Ran an internal restrictor on a Rw mod 5 port this weekend and it worked very well, didn't seem to hurt the power much. Best fuel mileage I've ever gotten.

I tried a Dynamite 086 on my MG66 last meeting (which I actually bought for my GX-3R but had to give it a try). Nice powerband, wicked top end, and I got a minutes extra run time :)
Our track is very open and fast, so your on the throttle hard a lot. With a 6.5mm restrictor I normally come in after a 7 min heat (say around 7.40) with only a few mm of fuel left in the bottom of the tank. Last meeting with the 086 I ran a 7mm restrictor and came in at 7.48 with just under 1/4 of a tank. Big difference from the 2072 - on this particular track anyway. The 086 seemed to get the MG onto the pipe and hauling a little quicker than the 2072. Maybe not as smooth, but I think it stopped me pulling uneccessary throttle due to the faster response - not sure really, but I like the extra minute run time :nod: On a tighter track with less throttle use it should give excellent run times. guys,just checked my friends 5port sleeve and piston yesterday when i push the piston inside the sleeve piston head is flushed on top of the liner, assembled the engine and turn the flywheel,and what??engine still has loads of compression,is this normal on all go engines?my friend just finished breaking in this engine last week

Saturday I ran the mg-66 with a 16 tooth clutchbell,2072 pipe, byrons 30%. My mg is shimmed .3mm head shim pack. But I am using the losi air filter system. That filter moves the incoming air to cooler air,away from the head, which gets hot as we all know. When I switched to the losi filter system all my engines improved in mileage. My rb modded 3 port gets the best,13+ min. I put on the big xray,small xray down goes the mileage. The other thing is I got some tuning tips from the man himself and you. So I would have to say I am getting it pretty dialed. The other thing that helped were the 1.3x8 piston set I got off of ebay along with the sweep tires. I was able to keep my 808 going at a good clip. The car was very easy to drive faster then I am normally capable of. So mashing the throttle was not happening. The things above are what work for me here in n.california. So as we are here to share info,take it as you will. One last thing with the air filters from answerrcusa. The outer filter is ribbed so I oiled one ran it clogged fast. Changed to inner oiled outer dry lasted the rest of the day with just some dust starting to form on the inner element.
