I agree. I have a 7-port in my Caster ZX1-R and it is sick. I only use about quarter throttle on the complete track at the tracks around me. I am thinking of putting it in my K8T and getting a 3 port for the buggy.

7 Ports ROCK  - a lot of people under estimate them, silly people :sneaky:

what type of breakin did you use?

I used the one listed on here somewhere, where you idle 2 on the box (with the heatgun so temps stay above 200F) and then do the rest of the running in gently and rich on a flat road. I must have run about 20 tanks (almost a gallon) before I started to lean it any. It still had tons of pinch on it after this.

The annoying thing is that I babied this engine from the word go. I would'nt start it unless I had my heat gun to it. If I went to the track, I always made sure it sat in the footwell with the heater on it.

My mates LRP he got just before mine had the same treatment and his still has a little pinch on it after 2 1/2 gallons??????

What clutch are you guys running in truggy with the .25 5 port? I'm looking to try a new set up in my mugen but can't decide if the m2c clutch or the fioroni 2 shoe or the 5 shoe will work best. Thoughts?

Did you have you throttle EPA set 80%

Yea, its close to 85-90%. Saves on fuel milage, and keeps me from blowin off tires.

Whats been the results for .25 Go 6 port? Performance? and Mileage? I've tried the 086, JP1, JP2, Jp3, JP4, 053, and not sure which is giving the best results, This is for Truggy. Have not tried this on the track yet, just out in the street, has about 3/4 of a gallon on it? Temps seem al ittle high, 240- 265 range.

The M2C 4 shoe clutch will not fit the Go engines.....the skirt on the back of the flywheel won't fit over the crankcase.

How aboutthe fioroni 2 shoe or do I need to stick with the oem mugen?

soccerlaw 06-26-2008 07:03 AM

So m2c clutches don't fit on go-techs???? That would explain why I wrassled for about 45 minutes trying to get it to work and ended up blowing some clutch springs as it wasn't flush. It's funny, I actually spoke to M2C yesterday and tried to explained what I did and we joked around about some people are just the kind of people that you could put in a phone booth with two bowling balls and within 10 minutes they would have broken one bowling ball and lost the other!!!

That sucks that it doesn't work though as I heard it's by far the best clutch option out there for 8Ts. So what are you guys with 8Ts running? I'm using dynamite max lifes right now.

All engines rut a little hot during the break in period. After a gallon or 2 temps should stabelize.

240-265* is perfect. Let it run. Trying to tune the engine's temp down just costs you piston life. At ~250* everything is expanded correctly, they're meant to run that hot. I've got no idea about the pipe though. Run the one that makes the engine run the way you want it to, don't worry about those temps. If the engine is too hot it won't run well, that's how you know it's too hot.

I am running the fioroni 4 shoe(turbo twin), with two soft springs on my PTM 25. :nod:So far so good, I am sure I will play around with the springs and shoes once the motor is fully run in.:sneaky:
