when i had my 7 port in the truggy it was okey only noticed a problem with the bottem end power only very slightly and that would be exiting a cornerbefor a big jump was needed ... but still produced enough reliable power

I found, if you change to 13/48 as apposed to 13/46 in the mugen with x2 1.0mm and x1 1.1mm springs fixes that Matty. Give it a try Matty next time you need to sport the 7port in your Trugg. That was even in my older, heavier 5T :sneaky: |
Thanks for the help
Thanks for the help guys. Rb mods is helping me get the parts I need. I got 5 go engines, and I am going to rebuild 3 motors for CRCRC. 7 port, 5 port, and a 3 port r, the track up there is a slick track. Rb mod is getting all of the new parts from the gx motors to build my power plants.

Hey... I talked to Rick. Your parts are on the way from Taiwan. I sold my last crank at RC Pro, and have some more coming. I'm stocking up on these parts, by the way.
I'd like to thank all of you for your patience in getting things up and running. I'm gearing up for a HUGE 2010, and have a lot of good things in store. My web site should be up in a couple of days (with new photography, and some old), and look for a new product announcement in the next week or two. Just finalizing some logistics and artwork now. T |

+1 to that!

I have a race this weekend and will try out the GX5R, I will send a report next week.
After the run in, the engine looks and acts very good, I will wait until the real thing... Regards ALG Peru Race was held on Lima PERU, on a loose, loomy track. My tire choice was Losi XBT red comp. car HB D8 STOCK, clutch also stock but trimmed. The GX5R was with only 3 liters of use, so I was not with the perferct tune, I was on the rich side. 7mm Venturi and my pit stops were 8min. (NO problem at all) I could go to 10 min but we play safe and had a 8min stragety. Pipe that I used was Dynamite 086, glow plug NR C7TF (No GO plugs for me) Sidewinder 20%Nitro and 10% oil. We race 2 heats of 20min each, I won both heats and was the only to do 27 laps on the last heat. on the first heat, the temp ended at 215ºF and on the second heat, we lean the engine and finish the race with 230ºF The engine was GREAT!!!!!!!!!:sneaky: great bottom and power, Could jump the triples with no problem. it holds the tune extremly well and it was very easy to tune. Note: its NOT a TORO NERO but for the ratio of cost/happines is a VERY VERY good VALUE! If you are think to get an engine, DONT THINK, just go and get it, you will be very happy, KNOW I have a new power plant for next year South American Championship:batman: Have fun and dont forget to have fun ALG |

Your quite right - it's not a Toro Nero, or an OS Speed Tuned. It never will be, and I don't think any of the dealers or racers that use the product try to pretend it is. As you stated, what the GX motors provide is very, very good value and performance for the money you spend, and you can't ask for more than that. Nice racing too by the way :D |
after racing again on the weekend the mg66 performed extremely strong yet again i would think i would be getting close to 10 mins run time in my buggy after 7min 40 i still have 1/4 tank left ...
there is no doubt at all that these engines are lacking when comparing to the novas os speeds ect down the straight over the jumps they pack the punch and the speed  .. |
Here's a short little vid of practice at the track we raced on last weekend. Both these cars have Go motors in them, Kendall's is red and yellow and has a Gx 5 port, basically stock except for a timing shim added for more top end. Steve in the blue and yellow is an Associated driver and had trouble with his Reedy and his Speed so he ran my old seven port. It was my first Go before I was a dealer, and still rips!
For indoor nitro it is the best place I have raced at. The big fans are on the back side of the track so all the smoke goes away from you. Adrian Redding came all the way from Colorado to Minnesota to race with us and he is an awesome guy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nl80...eature=channel Rex |

I'm a little surprised to hear you say that about straights.... Not trying to be big noting, but the only car I've seen come close to the MG66 in truggy is a Ninja & I've watch another guy at our club running a MG66 in his Losi 8ight 2.0 buggy just eat the competition & we both use 6.5mm restrictors. mmmmm, might need to investigate, these motor have some seriously long legs, they continue to rev higher after most others have topped out.
Pete. So far with our testing I wouldn't say the 2072 is really a top end pipe..It has awesome trigger feel and a great midrange punch, but it definitely doesn't rev as high as some of the other pipes we have tested so far...The 2072 has a very long header and I am thinking in some cases using a shorter header may give a bit more top end runout....... So far with the latest modified GX 7 port/2072 we aren't seeing the same top end charge as our modified V-Spec.... However it is still very early to tell, the engine is still very new and very tight and running reduced compression, so we will reevaluate after its fully broken in and the extra shims are removed...... But by comparison so far I would say the 086 gives more top end then the 2072 does......The 2072 has more midrange punch, but the 086 will ring out better on the topside...In truggy the 2072 in buggy the 086 ( or 2072 on shorter header )... The GX7 on 2072 feels awesome so far in Truggy, but in the Buggy we feel it could use more RPM |
