Would someone either repost or PM me on how to replace the orings with fuel tube please?

While you waiting for new O rings, just make some out of fuel tubing. I have been running the fuel tubing O rings for a year now (because of the crumbling brown factory ones) and they work fantastic.
Just cut a slice of fuel tubing a fraction wider then the groove in the needle. Fit the tubing over the end (with a pair of long nose pliers and slip it into the groove. Sit it so the front end (needle point end) is in the groove and the other is sitting proud of the groove. Now gently screw the needle in until the tubing is completely out of sight. You will notice the excess tubing from the rear of the needle peel off as it is forced into the needle seat or tube. Now screw the needle back out and you will see you have a perfectly fitting fuel tubing O ring. The tubing is fuel resistant, slippery enough to allow easy adjustment but still hold the needles in place, won't dry and flake and is soft enough to keep a perfect air tight seal. Easy and very cheap :) Hope this solves your problem and gets you racing :cool: |

Here are some pics of the Mg66, the ones I am selling have extra con rod, and rear bearing. They also have the Nitrided crank, wrist pin and carb slide.

I couldnt resist and decided to keep one of these for myself. I'll be breaking it in w/ my Losi truggy, hopefully this week along with a GX-5R. Whew... glad I've got a lot of nitro juice! Need to get a Hudy break-in bench! |

well guess it's not just down under cause RCTech wouldn't load pages for me for the last 3 days either...
Took the mg66 out for a club demo day on sunday on the tarmac and tried the new 4 shoe clutch system I bought from JVD-RC (sold as Ascendancy Racing effortless clutch in the US) and tore up some rubber..only dry day in the last 3 weeks so we went nuts for the day..shredded 2 old sets of tires down to the foam and I love this new clutch..easy to install and tune..shoes/springs are cheap as well and it works flawlessly.. check it out here http://www.jvd-rc.com/index.php?page=main the MG66 was eating up mp9's with RB engines all day..just gotta strip another 100g off the weight of my car and I'm there !! |
Hi Giz - Those JVD clutches are proving very popular down here too. A lot of the guys are trying them and liking the results. Only had one problem with breakage so far. The red alloy centre section that holds the springs in place completely tore in half on one unit after a day and a bit of racing.
Guys have been finding that they can use softer springs too. The 1.0 springs act like 1.1's with this set up. It looks like a good set up, and seems to be very smooth. It worked good on the MG66 - yes ? I will be running my MG all the time this next season. I was going to run another motor for club days and keep the MG for bigger events, but I figure why have a motor like that sitting in the tool box gathering dust. Go hard with it and if it wears out, just buy another one :D Lifes to short to settle for second best when the good stuff is right at your fingertips :nod: |
