Hey Flanno, I watched the video's you posted. Good driving, now put the mg-66 in a buggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::nod: Now does everybody know why it took me so long to get the engine under control? Actually I owe a lot to mark at massive mods who helped out a newbie! And of-course Grizz, and gizmatron. Lots of info going around this thread. Also the xray thread, dam glad I bought the 2010 808.

Yes, a lot of posts along those lines about when to change.... As Marks local driver he wanted to leave it in on purpose and keep an eye on things to get an idea how long they can last etc... I normally wouldn't leave it that long myself, but at least now we have a better idea on its life span from new in a new tight engine.

Thanks Matt

Yep she motors my truggy along nicelly, and would be killer in a buggy- lighter in weight than a truggy and better gearing/smaller diameter wheels than a truggy.

You'l notice the nose lift a couple of times in the videos with higher 13/44 gearing, stock is 13/46 on MBX6T's, and was backing off on the long straight so not to run up the back of others in front. :sneaky:

After we host a 1/5 scale Championnat de France at our club this weekend I have got a week to get another couple of liters through my MG66 to loosen it up.I'm running around 1 sec a lap slower that the top guys here cause I'm still running so rich I just don't yet have the proper snap acceleration or top end which is frustrating the hell out of me..:flaming:
The tractors will rip the track to bits too so I'm gonna take the opportunity to redo the track a bit and add an under and over crossover bridge and some more BIG jumps.
Then I'm gonna kick some butt for the rest of the season with the '10 spec 808 and the MG66.I missed the last 2 races for work commitments which sucks but there are still 8 or 9 races left and I can do them all.:D

Here is a quick video of the Go 5 in my RC8. I switched to Go from the Werks B5 and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I was getting 8+ minutes on that track with lots of sand in it. I drive kind of crazy when I do my fuel test runs

Some mad skill behind the wheel. What was the reason for switching from go-tec to werks?

Been up too long. thanks for the correction.

The B5 is a very powerful engine but I couldn't get decent run times with it. The B6 will probably be comparable to the Go 5 as far as power and mileage is concerned

yep, but probably still behind the MG66

The easiest way to tell which needle you have is to open the throttle fully and look down the carb throat. If the needle you see still has it's tip in the reciever jet opening (little brass jet on the right hand side) then you have the long needle. If the needle pulls out of the reciever jet at around 3/4 throttle and is well clear at full throttle, then you have the short needle.
If you are still unsure remove the needle and measure it with a vernier. Long needle is 1.6" long and tapers down to a fine point. The short needle is 1.42" long and has a stubby bull nose tip.

I am aware of the long needle/short needle LSN situation. But somehow it didn't enter my mind when I was breaking in my MG66. It was only after major difficulties tuning that I checked and it had the long needle. I didn't have time to order a short needle, so I put in a LSN from my RB WS7. I compared the RB LSN to one out of my GX-7R (short needle) and they seemed the same. Anyway, it seems to work. Anyone else use RB needles? I will be ordering a Go LSN. Would that be GOT21-2003 for the MG66?
