To this point so far, GO is the only manufacture that I'm aware of that provides and additional con rod
You're right, but i don't know why they not supply new g-clip with this extra con rod:confused:
We have to buy new g-clip when we change con rod.:weird:

I hope your going to try the new series in stock form first as I think you'll be surprized just how nice they are with no modding really good run times too:D

true but the clips are very cheap anyway and also the wrist pin i have changed mine out at the 5 lt mark new pin clips and rod there were no sighns wear at all after break in and every thing measured up the same as new , spot on

Do you have any readings from the 5.5 Gen to compare to the new GX's? I really want to see the improvements that have been made reflected on a dyno.

I have always reused the same clip I've taken off. I don't see the purpose of replacing it since there is no waer on parts like that. That's why I assume they don't include the clip. Makes sence to me:nod:

I have the timings of a Gen 5.5 7 port..... in fact that is the last Go I was playing with and shooting video of.....The 5.5 7 port had plenty of room for my style of modifications in the base timing....I am very excited to test the 7 port before and after mods thats for sure....And I am very happy with the final modded 7 port i did, in fact it is one of my favorite engines so far, it has tons of power on tap, but never feels peaky or jumpy at all.......If you want to drive slow it will drive slow, and if you want to rip it up it shreds with the best of them...the modulation and tractability are phenomenal, especially when considering the amount of power it is capable of producing...The modded 7 port took down a 5S 2200 KV BL in the same chassis, and went toe to toe in a drag with one of my modified picco's, so its got some serious bang..But yet on the track it only gives you what you ask for, so its very nice to drive..... The mileage appears to be really good as well.....

Great! I'm looking forward to seeing stock and what it's capable of modded. I've got one sitting in the box here just waiting to be dropped under the hood of my Z-Car:sneaky:

There is no way I will ever run a stock engine again.
All my GO engines are modded. If you want to see
your run times increase, all you need is a standard
race mod and shim the head button properly. Also,
I have been running an insanely modded Clockworks
GO 7port for way over a year now and I'm so used
to running it, I guess I'm spoiled now. I have put this
engine thruogh hell. It has burned many gallons of nitro
on my truggys, It has seen tank after tank of wide open
running around the big dirt oval and has even seen time
on my on-road DM-1 Pro. This engine used to be a hand
full to maintain control on the truggy, but now I'm so used
to driving it, any other engine has to be really bad assed
to impress me. Hell, even when I get a MG-66, I will run it
a few times, then send it off to Maximo, for a little tweeking.
I'm just glad I'll have the parts to replace the rod in the 7port
soon. I'll run it two more gallons, then send the sleeve off for
a pinch before I start on gallon number nine.

My order of GX engines has arrived !

rageworks 10-29-2009 04:15 PM

Hey Neal (Maximo), are you going to pull a fresh one apart
to measure up the crank and port timing? Also, did you receive
any of the 2072 pipe-sets in your order?

mattwoodcraft 10-29-2009 04:19 PM

im hearing you rageworks one does get spoilt running modded motors , i love the power band they tend to get :)

are you going to post the results of your testing that you carried out ? ....
