Either no shim or a .1 shim for a total of .4mm
Medium Hot plug, running an OS #8 (medium) right now. Sounds like I need to try a #7?

Any thoughts?

No shim? that won't work.

rather then saying it will not work why not tell him why it will not work ? with no shim in you have .3 of squish adding 1 .1 will give a total of .4 if your only running 20% a .1 shim may all that be needed ...

IMO i would just run .2 shim give you a toatl of .5 med hot plug

Finally got my gen 4 7 port(with a cut lsn) dialed in correctly, never flamed on me once all day came in at 7:30 with at least a third of a tank every stop.
6mm restrictor, od 97t plug, one brass one silver shim, werks medium conical with dynamite 053 pipe.
Almost had TQ and won the main not bad for only three times out in the last year

mattwoodcraft 08-10-2009 04:02 PM

good job mate , i have tried the shorter lsp but have gone back to the long lsp needle but its a personnel thing thing i guess :) in my truggy with the 7 port gotech i have been pitting in around 12 min still with fuel in the tank , maybe i might stretch it alittle further

The shim is softer than the head button or the sleeve and acts like a gasket.

In your setup I would run 1 alum and 1 thin brass or even just the aluminum.

I'm intersted on the GO .25 turbo button. How much are you selling it?

randystang 08-10-2009 05:05 PM

i ran my 5port with .7 shims and p3 plug & 30% sidewinder this wknd, the motor wouldnt run good under 270s and not good there. i had 1.0mm shims in until i read the shimmin article and i pulled .3mm shims out and the motor was insane and would run at 220 but started flaming on me after a while, could it be the hot plug with the 30% ??
