JMO, looks like GO is trying to sell engines by a flashy appearance. They should grab a brain and work on their quality control, this may help their reputation. Dont get me wrong, they make good engines but they are hit and miss.
Is the gold plating going to help?? I think not.
Again, just my opinion.

Anyway wery interesting setup on the GX. You get a lot of additional value, good engine in a still very good price + they look good. I also hope the US disti get's their act together so you will get parts and engines.

So nothing informative but still worth writing ? Gold plating.... well should you actually read the spec and then understand what you're reading ?

I got a GO 5 port new p/s, crank is good it had an os carb, i put an RB carb on has like 1/2 gal now metal pinch is gone, cant seem to get it to run decent under 270, my friend runs them at 290 and screams is this right or should i try a different carb. at 270 how long will it last?
Most likely if the pinch is gone in that short of time it got some dirt in it. It will last running it at 270 no problem. I have seen Go's hit 350 and not need a pinch or anything after that. Make sure your temp gun is accuarate, as long as it's smoking it's fine.
If you need the sleeve pinched just pm me.

I have the same prob (if it is one) with my 7 port, it runs 260-270 lowest I've seen is 243 but seems to run the best at 270. Question I have is, it ran 265 in my 3 5 minute heats but on my 15 min main it came off the track at 312. I could tell it was leaning out due to the fact I couldn't clear the big tripple anymore and loss of pep. Does anybody tune it a little on the rich side to make up for longer runs? I did open the HSN almost a 1/4 turn during our warm up thinking that may happen. I'm running a 7 port, 2 1/2 gal, 6.5 restricter, short needle mod, 30% OD in a 8b. Thanks guy's
Most times if a motor gets hot the longer you run it the low speed is too rich and the high speed is too lean. (idle gap too wide) Read the tuning bible at the top of the nitro offroad page and it will explain this. There could be other things wrong as in a air leak or head or plug loose.

The "gold" plating is titanium nitride coating which makes the parts last way longer. It makes less friction on the moving parts which in turn should deal with the sometimes ovaling of the crank pin, also its rust resistent. They have them on the crank the pin and the slide in the carb. This feayure you usually find on some engines that cost twice as much and they usually only have the crank done not the pin and slide too. The plug rod and venturi set is sweet to and they made a 6mm restricter. Thats awesome because i have been trying to find 1 smaller than the current 6.5mm. The heads have the vent holes as is what most guys want also. I think they did an awesome job with these new mills. Now I just have to figure out which 1 I am going to get 1st lol. Also that LSN looked pretty short maybe they will tune easier more "traditional". For guys who have had trouble before.

We are only going to see the 5 and 7 ports on the first shipment to the Us. I think Russell was talking about $20.00 more than current motor but maybe he didn't realize they came with a rod and venturi sets. Even if they were $240.00 it would be a great deal.
Yes the titanium nitride is the same as some tools come with. The Eb motors were the same but black in color.

I've also been told their pricing structure hasn't changed that much concidering the improvment that have been included so $230 probably doesn't sound to bad (currently $209 from most shops)
All I know is I can wait to get my hands on them

as far as I'm aware they come with the venturi set and a plug now.. no extra rod ( but if they do that would be good) and they have been comming with venturies since the carb with the red logo (first of the 5.5) started being used.

240.00 plus? How do you figure that's a good deal? Nitride coated on the same basic design? Eb mods don't even carry go techs any more because he can't get parts. I like, Russell was thinking 20.00 more but didn't realize they came with extra's. So now he can raise the price even more and still give crappy product backing. I believe there was a gent that a few pages back said it best; It's time for go tech u.s. management to step aside and get some one in that can handle the job.

After properly breaking them in you should almost need to heat it up before starting until 1 gallon or slightly less. At one gallon there should be alot of metal pinch yet.
