Yeh his email has gone nuts because of the delay in the arrival of the MG66 on top of his normal workload..he will reply just might take a while at the moment...I waited a week for a reply..don't worry he's alive and well ;)

Good to hear he's doing better than my motor. I'm not in a hurry just wasn't sure how long I'd have to wait to hear from him. Thanks!

hey guys,
just did a bearing replacement and replaced the rod and noticed the little shaft the rod connects to on the crank is way worn down. Anyone by chance have a used, good cond. crank they want to sale cheap, or should i just go buy one online??

set hsn so it runs good from start to end. then do all adjustments with lsn, just make sure your idle gap is set correctly. 100 degrees is way to rich and way to cold.you need temps up around 200 degree's plus. mine hangs around 225-240ish. also I can assume you have a completely broken in engine? at least 1 gallon-1.5 gallons. and did you take out the break in shim?

I think he meant 100°C. Which is 212 F.

ok i have a question. which is the best GO TECH motor to run in a buggy (mugen mbx6) on a small to medium size track. unfortuanatley we dont have any large tracks out here in my area but we do have some mid size tracks with good size jumps. i used to run the GO tech 3 port race and never had a problem with that motor clearing anything. what advantage is the 5 port or the 7 port gonna give me
Thanks

Hi no its coming up to the 1 gallon mark and the brake in shim is still in and it was coming in at 100°C. Which is 212 F. dont know if its good or bad i was just worried that i couldn't get any somke out ot it at top end like i say i riched it so much it was mising at the mid to end of the stright. But still no somke????

If your running it flat out and it's coming in at 100ºC then I shouldn't worry about it..mine doesn't smoke much at all at top speed..depends on fuel oil content and type as much as anything..120-130ºC is more normal temps after a tank or two and full speed runs..If it's choking at full revs lean it back where it was..

both the 3 and 7 port will be good for the buggy modded 3 port has good bottem end and top end even if you end racing at a track with large jumps out of corner no problems at all , the 7 port in the buggy is also a very good motor heaps of top end if its a fast flowing track i would use a 7 port :) but t eather of these with a 2072 pipe is a awsome combo :)

mattwoodcraft 07-26-2009 04:00 AM

if your engine is not for stroking at the end of the straight it will be okey you shouldnt see alot of smoke at high rpm if you do it way to rich from start to end there should be a trail it normal not to see any smoke flat

Hi guys, I have been off the air for few days due to internet server problems :( plus our computers at work have been down too, so I have been completely cut off from the outside world  (actually not a bad thing for a short while).
Got some racing in yesterday - YAHHHHHHOOOOOO. Gorgeous day and nice track conditions. Used the 2072 on my MM5 5 Port in anger for the first time - WOW covers it nicely. What a sweet combination  :D I thought the MM5 went well with the 0801, but the 2072 was way ahead in power and performance right through the rev range. I am thinking as the new MG66 motors are highly moded 5 Ports (thats putting it very basically) that this pipe on the new motors will RIP !!!
I am still going to use the 2047/0801 combo on the 7 Port though. It just seems to have more response on my 7 for some reason.
Gonna be off the air for 8 days or so from next Wed. Taking a well earned holiday, so I will catch up with all you nitro heads in a week or so. I might drop in for a look at what's happening if I can find an internet cafe in my travels :D
