VP shoes are awesome so far... no complaints.
The 7 has a good smooth bottom end so don't be to worried but you may want to try the VP shoes as they come with .09, 1.0, 1.1 springs all in the package so you can try different combos out.

2 .9s and 1 1.0 is pretty good on slick tracks

Anyone had the middle fins on the head of their GO motor come loose and rattle around?
Is there a way to stick them back in place?

Is a JP-3 a good combo for a 5port? The track is more medium sized with losts of twists and only 2 small straights (atleast so far- might get changed by next season)

I don't really want to have to buy a new pipe, but what would you guys suggest?

Also has anyone gotten the urge and succeeded at making a pipe chart?
Looking through some of the various brands (well JP and Dynamite atleast) for pipe characteristics (JP-1 low end, JP-2 Low to mid etc) .. and I can't even fathom the EFRA/IFMAR Homogologdsyngajnbgfed meanings lol..
People so often refer to 053, 087 etc etc.. oye :weird:

I don't like the powerband with the JP-3, runtime also sucks with JP pipes, I suggest getting the Dynamite 086, it's under 50 bucks new.

Ok, what are the characteristics of the 086? is it low, low-mid, mid, etc etc?

Edit: Checked the site. Says "High speed inline pipe" .. so does that mean it's suited for High end output or for cars that go fast lol.. my head hurts!

Not what I need. Our track is medium with more turn backs and corners with a single maybe 60 foot straight... that isnt really straight

Go with the 086 pipe, great bottom end, it's the best pipe for the 5 port, the description from what the stores post are a little deceiving. I been doing this for many years, I tested many pipes with the Go engines, Russell will verify that info.(AKA-Rocket 42)

agreed 086 if your on a budget, Go 801 if your a smoth driver (it dents easily)

Herb its not to common but it can happen. there is no really good way of repairing it, you could get some Jb weld in there or just cut the fins off, It won't damage the engine to have the fins rattle around but I know its annoying.

Also I would like to post that since working with Ebmods, Ed has had the ability to test many things on the engines.

For the past month I have asked some of the team drivers to experiment with lower head shimming per Ebmods reccomendation. We have found that dropping the head shimming down to .019-.020 will give a nice increase in power out of the engines.

So far there hasn't been any negative side effects, but it will make tune a little trickier for someone who is not familiar with the engines and most importantly it cannot be dropped untile after the metal pinch is gone, or you will find it very hard to tune and possibly blow glow plugs.

So if you have some calipers you will bascially run 1 alumn. and 1 copper shim and measure them till they are around .019 to .021 and install and go.

When will the eb modded 5 port be available!

if i run a .21 5 port motor for my truggy instead of the .25 motor, do i have to do anything different on the clutch setup? and am i going to notice anything different?, i know i saw someone say the .25 gets up to top speed quicker but the .21 will pull longer down the straight

this is pretty much what my track looks like, so i dont know if im better to get the .25 or the .21.... i know some people say go .25 that way i have power like the .28 and gas milage like the .21..i justcant figure out what i shouuld do....most at my trck uses a .28 motor... im leaning alittle more towards the .25....whats your thoughts?

Go with what the boys say SirKarnage. The 086 is wicked on the 5 Port. The 5 Port has so much bottom end it doesn't need a low end pipe to work well, and the top end design draws a little more out the 5 Port up top and gives it a strong mid range as well. Value for money the 086 Dynamite is unbeatable for the 5 Port, plus it has the re-enforced stinger too. 0801 maybe a fraction more grunty then the 086 and gives a little better economy in terms of fuel usage, but it is a thin wall pipe and prone to stinger damage, plus it's dearer.

can u guys give me your opinion on how my truggy is runnin, somethin seems off to me. my temps are 210. its runnin super rich, my arm guard is covered in fuel. but if i adjust my hsn any it cuts out.

it didnt sound super rich to me...
is that a new clutch? something sounded a little strange on the low end. top may have sound slightly rich but i can never get them tuned just right on the street.

clutch could use new pads.and the tune doesnt sound rich but i have raw fuel spitting out of my exhaust like i said my arm guard is covered in fuel. and my temps are at 210. if i lean it out ANYMORE even an hour it cuts out, ill take a video of what it does. but im off to work so ill have to do it tommrow
