Which GO would you recomend for an RC8/SC8?
Will be running a Jp-3 pipe.
as for running I like having more low/MID speed/torque as our track only has a small straight but a whole lot of infield and jumps comming out of turns that with my driving style I don't carry the speed through :(

I was thinking the .21 or .25 5 port.. am I correct in this thought?

.21 5 port champ jp okay but go 0801 better

5 port in your rigs will be great for your track with jumps coming out of turns and small/short run-ups.

Should one tune the same for the long LSN as a short LSN? I have about 1/2 turn in the top of my gen5 7 port with a short LSN and it's still running rich. The bottom is still rich with about 1.5 tuns in with a little over gallon through it and it still has metal pinch. I still have the same plug in it from when I first started to break it in.

What other engine heads are compatible with the GO's? I'm thinking about trying out a NOVA cold weather head on my 7 port for some cold weather racing. http://www.novarcproducts.com/coolweatherheads.html

Also, does anyone have a used and usable Go 2047 lying around that they want to sell?

No - the tune for long and short LSN's are different. Because the long LSN stays in the spray bar at full throttle you need a richer top end to compensate for this.
It depends on fuel, pipe, climate etc, but here is a good guideline for race tune :

Short LSN:
LSN 2.5 - 3 turns in
HSN 2 - 2.5 turns in

Long LSN
LSN 2 - 2.5 turns in
HSN .5 - 1 turn in max

As you can see the LSN's are similar, but the HSN is a lot richer with the long needle.
Think of the HSN as the tap on your garden hose (it controls total fuel flow into the engine), and the LSN as the nozzle on the end of the hose (what you get out of the nozzle depends on how much you have turned on the tap).
If you lean or richen the HSN, you will lean and richen the LSN accordingly, so tune the HSN first for peak full throttle performance, then tune LSN for smooth idle and good take off from standing start.

No, the .25's sleeve and piston is bigger.

i've heard nothing bad about the 3 port (and run one with no problems too), only issue is tuning is bit different. i've heard the 5 port conrod bushing falls off sometimes. locally i haven't seen a (stock) go 5 port that impressed me as much as the (stock) 3 port.

is the go 3 port better then the dynamite platnium .21. ALSO WHAT PIPE DOES THE 3PORT LIKE? And if i can get the 3 port for 150 brand new would u do it?

22Racer 11-27-2008 04:38 PM

The 3 port seems to do better in the lighter cars, it does not have as much bottom end as a 5 port.
The conrod is the same in the 3,5,7 ports and the .25 and .28. Not sure why it would only fail in the 5 port?

The rod and bushing in the 3, 5, 7 race engines is the same, but there was a batch of bushings that fell, I had one of them, and I believe someone else here as well but was in a 3port R

A-Main haven't updated the picture to the newest generation of engines.

I think the 3 port does not have enough bottom end for a truggy. The 5 port and the .25 are the only ones I would recommend for a truggy. It really depends on the track and the skill level of the driver.

is the power change from the 5port to the .25 big? or just different?
