I'm asking because I need a conrod for my old P5 and I still have one left from my 7port.
I have to say that I'm a little dissapointed from the Go engines. I had 3 of them and none has lasted more than 3.5 gallons. The main problem is that they brake where the conrod is connected to the piston.
At my local track happened the same thing to two of my friends.... I guess I will go back to using RB or Nova engines, they usually last with me up to 7-8 gallons and not 3-4!!!

I would say you are not breaking your Go motors in properly. Breaking them in at low temps or not as suggested in parts of this forum will result in strain on the rod. Are you replacing the rod after break in at around 1.5 gal as recommended for any motors as tight as the Go's ? Have you contacted the Go distributor who you purchased your motors from regarding your problems ? I have seen Go engines with 9 gallons plus on them still runinng strong. 99 % of the Go users on this forum have no problems with their motors. Perhaps you need to sit back and ponder why your motors are breaking and nobody else's are :weird:

Just to share with you guys ... wow today i was amazed with my Go 5 port (go efra 2047 pipe). Tomorro i have a big national level event in my country (Chile) and today was the open practice day ... and as the track its very technical and does not have any loooong straight i tested a 6.5mm insert on the carb and WOW ... went from 8.30 minutes to 11.10 minutes of runtime ... very strong, with good low and high end power (compared to other engines mainly RB WS7III, mine was as good as the rest in power).

Hope to make it good tomorrow ... cya !!

Well why don't you give him a "Trader Rating".
LOL, I mean the man treated you and others
good and no one has taken there time to respond
about it. The man has no trader ratings at all.
Lets get some +100% ratings under his avatar.

Best wishes for tomorrow Patricio :) Make us Go owners proud

Interesting info on the 6.5mm restrictor too. I had heard that a smaller restrictor can boost bottom end power a little.

Hello.

I have a question about shimming.

I ran Go 7 port Turbo (7.5 mm insert) with 0.2 mm + 0.1 mm = 0.3 mm shimming.

Can I ran only with 0.2 mm shim or is 0.3 mm OK?

P.S. I use 20% nitro fuel.

Thanks,
Chipo

Can someone give me some advice about shimming Go 7 port engine?

Thanks,
Chipo

If I was running 20% I would just use the aluminum shim (.25mm), it should run fine with both shims but I've ran 30% with just the one silver shim.

HEY MENO

MEN0, where are you running? are you out in the street are back yard, or are you racing on a track? out in the yard it really don't matter. if you are on a track, there could be a couple more questions. are the straightways long/short. are there a lot of turns? basically for a track that has a lot of turns and short straights use a pipe and header that has a lot of low end grunt (torque). for fewer turns and long straights, use a highend for top speed.

generally you would use with a turbo head button .4 on 20% .5 for 25 % and .6 on 30%
