I think he means the length of fuel tubing from the exhaust pipe to the fuel tank.

How many and which shims are supposed to be on a .21 3-port race? I cannot remember if I took my break in shim out. :(

Ya I did mean the length of the fuel tubing.

However the 17cm answer seems a reasonable length!

Thanks!

Cool, thanks man!

Go's have more head clearance than other motors, I'm just running the one alum. in my 3 port and it works fine with 30%.

Hi Guys, this is my first post here, and i need a help if possible.
please anyone can tell me the difference of shims on GO 21 7P if :

I use the engine with a standard button head and 25-30% nitro
I use the engine with a turbo button head and 25-30% nitro

Thanks in advance Guys ;)

Hi Joe, The Go's come shimmed for up to 30% out of the box. You just run the same shims for standard or turbo heads. The extra brass shim that comes in the box is a break in shim. Put it in before you start break in and it wil make for much easier starting and running, as these motors are very tight when new. Leave it in for a gallon so, or until the metal pinch is noticably reduced, then remove it and let er rip !!!
Don't know if you have the long or short LSN in your carb, but there are tuning tips for both models on page 131 (plus a photo of the two different needles). Well worth a read as the long needle models do tune a little different to other motors. Also a good break in method for your 7 port can be found on the bottom of page 78 in this forum.
You will like the 7 Port a lot. Just be patient with the break in, and for the first 1.5 gallons or so until the beast loosens up. Then hang on tight

PS: Go with the turbo head for sure.

Hello.

I have a question about shimming.

I ran Go 7 port Turbo (7.5 mm insert) with 0.2 mm + 0.1 mm = 0.3 mm shimming.

Can I ran only with 0.2 mm shim or is 0.3 mm OK?

P.S. I use 20% nitro fuel.

Thanks,
Chipo

conrod

a friend of mine told me that the conrod of the Go engines and the Novarossi engines are the same!! is this true??
I'm asking because I need a conrod for my old P5 and I still have one left from my 7port.
I have to say that I'm a little dissapointed from the Go engines. I had 3 of them and none has lasted more than 3.5 gallons. The main problem is that they brake where the conrod is connected to the piston.
At my local track happened the same thing to two of my friends.... I guess I will go back to using RB or Nova engines, they usually last with me up to 7-8 gallons and not 3-4!!!
