Hope someone can point me in the right direction or help me out. I have a go .21 5p turbo and am not sure if the LSN is long or short version. It looks long to me, but I haven't seen the 2 side by side to know for sure. I've tried searching for pics or links to pics but haven't found any yet. Can someone help me with this? Thank you.

Tebo - has it been run? Which one is it? Is it the R215P? Turbo or standard plug? I was talking with Kshreder about his but he stopped replying.

By the way I can't send you a PM ... check your settings.

You have PM.

You can tell the difference in the needles by the tip, the short needle has more of a blunt rounded tip while the long tapers quite a bit before the tip, hope this helps, I don't have any pictures to help.

The short needle is all the way out at half throttle, the long needle never comes all the way out. I shorten the long ones, I shorten it to 2.42 inches and round the end.

Well I ordered the older needle that supposed to take care of the lsn problems..but now I can't tell if the tear in my carb boot had alot to do with it. The car sounded like it had a air leak. I took a pic of the long needle that came with my 08' 3 port race next to the old shorter blunt needle that I'm going to try. What a difference.

Thank you to all that replied. Definitely helped me figure it out. Especially the pic. My carb has the short needle in it so I should be good. Thanks again.

Hi Rex, I shortened the LSN on my 7 Port as you suggested and wow!!! it was much easier to tune and ran hard. You quote 2.42" in your post but I think it should be 1.42" ?? The original long needle is 1.6". Going on your figures, I cut and ground mine down to 1.42" and it's sweet.

Out of interest I tried this same needle in my modified 5 Port, but it does not run as good. Has a little hesitation in the rev range just as the needle comes out of the spray bar that can't be tuned out. I am assuming the engine was modded around the long taper of the newer LSN needle and the sudden removal of the shorter needle from the spray bar makes it run a tad rich for an instant. Any thoughts on this. It's not a problem because I use the original long LSN in this motor and it kicks arse, but was just interested to hear your thoughts.

22Racer 10-25-2008 10:19 PM

Yeah 1.42" sorry! If you change the needle to the shorter lsn the bottom should be close as long as your the same turns in. But you will be richer with the hsn because more fuel can come out of the spraybar. I don't think a motor can be modified to the carb.

Cheers Rex, probably just my inexperiance at fine tuning  I guess the modded motor needs just a little more finesse in that area. Like I mentioned, the short needle in my stock 7 Port is wicked. The motor has never run better ;)

OS P3 or P4 will do the trick. These seem to be the popular choice for the Go's.
