I am also hearing good things about the '08 version 7 Port with the 0801 pipe. Would the 7 Port have enough low end power for a truggy, especially on an indoor track?
I've run my 7PT in a losi truggy on several occasions and it is more than up to the task. when i run the 7 in the truggy I use the 2047 with a long header and it has more than enough bottom end and still retain the endless top end the 7 is known for but in saying that I would probably go for the 5PT fo a tight indor track

Morning Adrian Haa!!!! I thought you might have one in your posession by now. You will be pleasantly surprised I think. I may not make it down to Hamilton on Sunday. Bloody work getting in the way again. I may be called back on Sunday day, plus I am working my own shift on Sunday night starting 6 pm, so will not make it back in time. I could be unwell of course, but you didn't hear that here We will see what the weather gods dish up for us first.

In my question about the Go engines for the truggy, I guess I should have included the Go .25 6 Port.

How does the 25 compare to the Go 5 port. (ie type of powerband, runtime)

Is the 25 legal to run in the truggy at all races or just normal club races? Probably not a big concern, since I would normally only run club races, but I am curious.

the 25 has great powerband and great run time, use it with a JP-2/JP-4/086/0801 and will perform great, the limit for truggies is .28 so you will be fine.

I just got the 25 and I'm installing a fioroni turbo twin and it seems like the flyhweel nut needs shim. Has anybody installed one on the 25? Will OFNA clutch bell (non vented) fit too?

Anyways, I have a new P/S/R kit on the way and I can't get the damned main bearing out to replace it with a TKO ceramic. I have tried heating the case with no luck. I don't want to destroy the thing getting the stupid bearing out. Is there a tool out there that will get this F@*#ing bearing out?
i sent you a pm

Brian, i posted a vid of a PTM 7 port in a OCM truggy, it's a few pages back, and the engine is the first version 7 port with a NR carb, the 08 7 ports are better imo, it get's the job done

yes the .25 is stronger hands down bottom to top.

Mike keep a standard 3 shoe system ready, the difference is night and day, i have seen alot of people use this set up or something close to it and go back to standard with the GO engines, the spring or springs heat up and go soft feeling like the engine is lean bogging, or the engine just breaks them

brian, that PTM 7 Port is awesome in the video.

I am currently running a stock '08 3 Port R in my 8ight buggy with a Dynamite 086

How does the powerband of the stock '08 7 Port compare to the 3 Port R? Is the 7 port stronger throughout the powerband, including the low end? I was going to run the 0801 pipe.

Well ran my 7-port at the race this sunday and had some tuning problems with it. First I could not get it to stay running till the temp hit over 175 degrees, had to keep the glow ignitor on it or it would stall, yes I did try and new glow plug (OS P3) and it did the same thing, kept doing it. Then it would want to heat up after about 3 minutes. Got up to 305 degrees and would lose bottom end. Tried richening the HSN up the next heat race and it ran at 256 at the end of the heat but again after 3 minutes, it lost its bottom end and also was BONE DRY OF FUEL in a 5 minute main! During the B-Main it was running the same and again had to let the motor warm up to keep it running. Only thing I could see when I got home was the exhaust gasket on the case was all tore up and leaking. Could that have caused this problem? The first 2 minutes of each heat and main it ran awesome. Pinch is still great too.

the 7 has become my fav, over the 5 currently. It hits solid but is smooth and is much more forgiving than the past 7 as far as clutch setup, it's not so hit or miss, and yes the 0801 is it.
