Thanks, I will switch them. I was think the 3 would be better, but I have it on my buggy now. Not a problem though. I will switch them out. Thanks again.

Hello everyone.....Im new to the forum and have a few questions. I have read 15+ pages and have learned a little about the GO engines, but I still have some questions. I am looking for an engine for my 8T and I've heard two recommendations: The .25 6 port and the .21 5 port turbo. It seems that everyone says the 0801 pipe would be the best choice. I have a JP3....would this be okay? If not, I'll get what is recommended. Those of you with experience...what would be the best route. The truck is used only for track use.....and can I expect to have issues with the needles? Thanks in advance.

I am getting ready to get a 5 port. So use P3 plugs and I have a JP-3 now will that be good in a truggy? Soon I wil be going to a buggy and then I will need a different pipe correct? When is the most practical time to swap the rear bearing to the TKO? Where do you get the TKO bearings and why wouldnt you switch both? And is my choice on the 5 port the best for what I am going to be doing with it? It will be for truggy use at the most 2 months of saturday races. Sorry for the 20 Questions.

You won't need to change pipes if you put the 5 Port in a buggy, but you may need to play with the clutch shoes / springs and run a restricter to soften the wicked bottom end the 5 Port has. It can be a little too much power down low on a loose track. I ran the 5 Port in my buggy briefly with the 086 pipe, carbon shoes, 1mm springs, 7mm restrictor and 14 tooth bell (instead of 13) and it worked fine. Not sure on the bearing question, but I'm sure somebody will be able to help you. |
Im trying to get a grip on this thread, so many pages and so many discussions about the same thing hehe.
Heres what ive got so far. Go Technology .21 7 Port Race Engine (Turbo Plug) Best combined with(!?) O.S. P3 Turbo Glow Plug "Ultra Hot" Pipes Go Technology 1/8th EFRA 2047 Tuned Pipe Go Technology FEMCA 0801 Tuned Pipe Dynamite Platinum 1/8 086 High Speed Inline Exhaust System (Hard Anodized) As you can see this is for the 7 port, havent read up that much on the 5 port. Amainhobbies.com stocks them and so does http://www.carolinasrc.com |

Amainhobbies.com stocks them and so does http://www.carolinasrc.com For 7 Port best pipe is the FEMCA 0801, followed by Dynamite 053 (086 best suits 5 Port), then the Go 2047 OS P3 plug for sure. If you are running a buggy you won't go wrong with the 7 Port Turbo and 0801 or 053 pipes. The 7 Port is hot  Truggy - run the 5 Port Turbo with 0801 or 086 pipe. The 5 Port has lots of bottom end for the truggy, and pretty good top as well with those pipes. Regarding the 2047 pipe. I have a friend who loves this pipe on the Go motors. He runs the 2047 with a short header on the 5 Port and a long header on 7 Port and swears by it. I found the 086 and 053 better for me. Different tuning and driving styles I guess. By all accounts the 0801 is the best of them all for 7, 5 and 3 Port Go's. |

Well, guys, that's the end of my relationship with Go Engines.
After having endless tuning issues with my Go recently and blowing of glow plugs after every 5th tank or so, I decided to throw in a RB WS7T, had a race today and all I can say is wow. Qualified for the A main in 5th no problem. It never missed a beat once. I am really disappointed about this as I really wanted to like Go engines so much and always root for the underdog, but I can't carry on having finals like the last one and frustrations like I have been having. So, if anyone here in the UK can get my Go to run like it should consistently, then please get in touch and give me a hand, in the meantime, it will be a nice looking paperweight in my workshop. Good luck Go engines and I hope you do well. |
Just got done with a gal. threw the 3p rspec..(20%,extra shim).dynamite 053. 14t bell.(truggy).
0 poblems with tunning..its wicked fast..rarely used wot..now ill remove this shim..switch to 30%...and wait for my 0801.. I had no problems from break-in to now..the end of a gal. hsn 1/4 in from flush lsn 1 in from flush.. will idle threw a 150cc tank. temps at 240 pretty much solid. The Hsn is very touchy tho..go past 1/4 from flush..and the trouble starts.. Thast pretty much it...just like everyone has already stated ,the powers on the bottom needle for these go motors...I love mine..And I will buy another:nod: |
I had a weird issue pop up today. During practice and the first qual heat, my 3R was awesome and I had tq until a bobble....damn slow marshalls, lol! Anyway, when I went out for the second heat, my buggy flamed out after 4 min. I thought maybe the plug went or something, but instead it ran out of gas. In practice and the first qual, I was able to make 7 min easy. The only change I made was to put on a new clean outer air filter. This doesn't seem right to me. I have no fuel tank or line leaks. I don't know what else could have caused this. Any ideas?

I had a problem blowing plugs like you describe for a little while, but turned out to be my fault as I didn't have the tune correct. I was too rich on the bottom and too lean on the top. Motor ran OK but plugs died on a regular basis. Since I have remedied the tune I haven't blown a plug. I guess you have tried flushing the HSN and tuning with the LSN which seems to be the way to run these motors ? They do tune a little different to other makes it would appear. Mabye you just got a bad apple with an inherint air leak or something. Good luck, and good racing :) |
