Thanks again.
Some of the Go carbs are a little loose due to the pinch bolt (the black inserts) being a little long. Take the pinch bolt out and grind a few thou off each of the ends where they touch in the middle when installed. This will allow the pinch bolt to grip the carb throat tighter. Reinstall with some sealant around the top of the carb neck (around the black O Ring) and nip up tight - not too tight or you will damage the carb neck !!
The brown coloured O Ring in the bottom of the carb insert of the crankcase is recessed into the crankcase. When you install the carb you need to push the carb down firmly onto this O Ring and tighten the pinch bolt with the carb held firmly in this position in order to get a good seal.
I have just ground the pinch bolt on my spare 5 port engine which had slight play in the carb and it is tight as now. You may want to check the brown coloured lower O Ring and replace it. You will find when the carb moves from side to side it chews this O Ring up a bit. Hope this helps

I have never run the .25 6 port, but from what I here it has a little more grunt than the 5 port down low, but is a little thirstier. I ran the 5 port turbo with 086 in my truggy and it had more power than I could handle plus good economy. A lot of it comes down to track size / type and driving style too. I would recommend the 5 port turbo and 086. Once you have a couple of gallons through this motor and it is fully broken in you will be very happy

Yea the bolt is 2 parts. Pull it out I heard some people say the bolts were a bit long and needed the ends that come together ground down a bit to pinch better, I didnt have an issue with this though. If you havent taken the carb out yet, and its puched all the way down you might have ripped the bottom oring.

Does anyone know where you can get the best price on the GO engines?

I am looking at maybe the 25 6 port or the 21 5 port and a pipe. I noticed on Ebay there was a combo package available. Was that a one time promotional deal? Do they even still do that, I haven't noticed it on any of the reputable sites? There is no model number given for the pipe either, but it looks to be packaged from GO.

Thanks!

grizz, it is the shizzle i would recomend this pipe for the 3 5 and 7 ports and the .25, it has a long header with basicly a 086 pipe, i put the NR 086 and the GO 0801 side by side and they are very close, i ran my 0801 on my stock 7 port and it was killer, really wakes up the bottom on the 7 port and top end was outstanding considering the amount of fuel i have on the engine, runtimes are over 8 min at this point.

This guy selling motors on ebay is not suppose to selling these engines, he basicly breaking US distributer rules, he gets motors from another country and sells them in the US, and grinds the #s off, these ebay GO engines are not warrentied by Racefactor, and not able to claim the contingency program, but other than that, Racefactor will have engines in on theursday, and i can get you what ever you need, if your interested pm me for pricing.

Hey Brian do you have any of the 0801 pipes. Got 6 tanks on the 25 and right now it seems like it is gonna be a powerhouse, probably gonna try to go up a tooth on the c-bell. Also any word on the turbo button for it--just want all my motors to be turbo so i only have to carry one type of plugs around.

Even though it's smoother on the bottom end it still has heaps of grunt for a truggy.
3 port R is better suited to buggy, and the 7 port is also a sweet buggy motor if running a medium to tight track.
I thought I read somewhere that the 3-port has the most torque down low. Am I wrong? I have a 7-port right now so are you saying it would be better to put the 7-port in the truggy and 3-port in the buggy or should I just get a 5-port for the truggy instead. I like smooth motors with not alot of punch right off. I am a very smooth driver and for example I hated my Picco.28 because it was like a light switch with the power, very sudden and abrupt. My axial .28RR lacks in bottom end compared to most but that is what I love about it very easy to drive on a shorter technical course without worrying about spinning out.

I don't have the 3 port but I do have the 5 and 7 port 21. The 5 port has a lot of torque but this can be tamed with clutch set-up. I initially had aluminum shoes with 1.1 springs but I felt the engine had too much low end punch. I now have Mugen aluminum shoes with 1.0 springs which tamed the torque down some. I might try 0.9 springs to help softened the low end a little more.
