that really depends on the fuel you use .. some Go engines here dont run in till they hit 2 gallons .. some hit race fit at 1 gallon .. the amount of wear between piston and sleeve is greatly determined by the oil package in your fuel .. The piston material is a high silicone alloy.

How do you know this? I can not verify which engine will hold it's pinch longer as I've only ever ran one Picco and it was used. By looking at the piston on a Go it looks to be a silicon aluminum alloy as Massive mods said. I can tell you that there is no Billet aluminum as hard as high silicon aluminum. In V8 motors in big cars it's called Hypereutectic aluminum, I have tried to machine valve pockets in this stuff and it eats up carbide inserts. Os looks like it uses billet aluminum on the V-spec piston and it doesn't hold a pinch as long as other motors.

I started to break in my 3rd 7port this week , I love these engines
After 9tanks it has still enormous pinch....have a race next weekend and I am wondering how much fuel should I burn during this week to be safe?
I'm running the JP-4 pipe, but I would like to know some feedback about the Mielke 2041....anybody tried this pipe before?

I would look at the 5 port for a truggy. It has a little more low end snap then the 7. Stick an 086 pipe on it and look out.

You need the 5P turbo....it's great in a truggy.

Brian Carey at Pro Twister Mods can make it even better.

All right guy's I got one for ya'll to think about. I have a Xray XT8 with a Go 5pt standard plug running o.s A-3 Sidewinder 30% and a 007ht pipe a Xray alum. clutch with i think 1.0 springs. The motor has almost 2 gallons on it. My needle settings are as follows and have been with in 1 to 2 hours since break in top needle 1/16 of inch down in barrel low needle 1 turn in from flush the motor has ran well temp about 225 to 235. run time 7-8 minutes no problem. Here we go this weekend i decided I wanted to get rid of some of the snap on the low end so I changed to a MIP carbon clutch and i wanted a little more top end so on went the 086 dyn pipe. Same weather conditions as last weekend when I raced. I started out with the top needle out 2 hours from where it had been temp too cool only 185 to 195 not real good power so i started leaning on top and bottom up to 4hours still temp only 195 to 205 at best and fuel run went to barely 5 minutes? I realize going from aluminum clutch to carbon could explain some temp difference but I never could get the low end power good enough to suit me it almost seemed like it had a lean bog never temped above 208 I was afraid to lean it any more sense every one seems to run top needle flush. Any way I put my 007ht pipe back on and re tuned a little quickly got my usual 225 temp back and right back to 8 minute run time So I still would like a little more top end should I havekept leaning the top and bottom with the 086 pipe??? or do i have something else wrong? BTW the frount bearing shows no sign of leaking idles perfect and still have to use heat gun to start first time every day great pinch. Sorry for such a long post but any help mush appreciated!!!

many manufactures make the 086 pipe, but a great one for a great price is Dynamite.

Indigo: I tried a JP-4 in my 5 port and it was good but runtimes were poor, I siwtched a Hyper 2059 pipe and it's great, also tried the JP-3 and also was great, at least better than the JP-4.

there is no question Picco uses a harder piston then a GO does...I am not knocking the GO, but its piston life is not as long as a Picco's is....I use the same fuels with both motors, so thats not a variable in my evaluation.......as well I will take a forged piston over hypereutectic any day..

Also I am not knocking the GO engines, I run them myself and have modified quite a few with great results... but we are definitely finding the Picco's will hold the piston edge longer then a Go will..

has anyone here run Picco and Go onthe same fuel ? and if so what did you find ?
