i dont think amain will take these motors back, i think it falls under their no return for defective merchandise policy. I sent a message to race factor
|
hhmm now what..... looks like I found something..... this sucks for me and all that have the same problem...... go-tech needs to hook me up :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:
|
i wonder if the entire engine is a 7 port and only the sleeve is wrong, or if the engine is a 3 port and the head is just wrong
|
I called a-main and they are calling the manufacture right now... then calling me back... we will see...
smracer31... is yours new ? |
smracer31... can you get the piston out of yours... I have tried a few times... but it will not come out... also with the sleeve out there is a big gouge in the front of the cylinder wall.. so I want to see if the piston is marked up as well... but I cant get it out.....
|
The 7/5 port case is black. The 3 port race is silver...
|
mine is new, i bought it about 2 weeks ago right when amain had them back in stock again. I will pull my engine out of my buggy and pull it apart more, let me know what amain says. my engine is brand new, has not been broken in yet as i am still waiting for some stuff to finish my buggy.

Any head that fit's Novarossi works. (except 6 bolt)
I just looked at my 7 ports I got from Russell Friday, the sleeve's are right on mine. Rex |

edit- talked to amain they are waiting to hear back from the manufacturer still but they have my info now. |
this is so frustrating...... I now have a motor that I can not use (hope to send back without problems.. but we will see) ... I waited to get a motor until I felt like I was making the right choice..... now I have this happon and it makes me wonder if I made the right choice.... I know you are all going to say... stuff happons, just get the right motor and it will be great....
oh well... hope to hear something soon... |
Guys, the main issue is the sleeve is wrong, i strongley recomend not trying to remove the piston from the block.
Unless the sleeve just pulls right out it may mark up the inside of tghe case, pull up in a stait movement and they come right out when new. If noone has heard from Russell or amain let me know and i will contact him on the matter. I have had great engines rom GO and seeing this did, suprise me, I'm sure with Russell being the way he is he will help resolve the matter to be sure the GO customers are taken care of. |
thanks mugen, the sleeve comes out fine, put the piston at bdc and the sleeve comes right out, im not sure why the conrod wont come out, im not forcing it in anyway it slids to about 75% off and the piston hits the block so i fear it may be more than just a sleeve. anyway if you could give russell a heads up on whats going on i would appreciate it. i dont expect a main to call back anytime today.
|
no problem man, the rod only going that far is no way shape or form a defect, all go engines but the ,25 6 port are like that, from what i can see on your mill the sleeve was the only thing wrong, i have a way of removing them for modding that doesn't bend or stress the rod and piston, modding this line of engines took some enginuity lol but it works safley and no issues with my methode, i would leave it on there and let's just get the sleeve issue taken care of, once that is done you will have a killer motor, you won't be dissapointed, i will call Russ now.
|
OK i just spoke with RACEFACTOR, and Russell should be getting on and will handle this matter, if you had and issue send him a pm and the problem should be resolved for you, he was at dinner with his family so just give him some time and you should be set, thanks for being as patient as you have been.
