I have a few questions though. I have started to read through this MASSIVE thread but there is so much to read.
1. Any tips for when i build it? I read somthing about replacing the header screw because the 2.6x25mm was to small. i dont like the idea of tapping out a bigger hole as it is my 1st nitro car i have owned.
2. Painting the body- it is a supra- if you have any commnets about this or thoughts just tell me!!!
3. I will be using an old stick futaba radio and servo the radio is the FP-T2MR and the servos are FP-S28, they are about 12 years old! oh the reciever is FP-R2GS. is this going to be ok to start on? the hoppy shop told me it should.
4. anything else i dhould know or what ever?!?!?!?!
Thanks
Deane

Finally when you get tired, STOP have a break and come back to it when you're fresh.
Do you have; sidecutters, hobby knife, good screwdrivers and threadlocking compound (loctite etc).l
If yes your probably ready to go!!!!!
Have fun

Alright it took me from 2PM to 11PM straight, no breaks what so ever. Well maybe one 10min break eating.
It look that long to build me kit
Though radio wasn't installed yet.
If i ever going to build a V1S again, i would try to reduce it down to 5-7hrs

It is not a race, do it once do it properly!
You are right that around 9 hours seems to be pretty common but i would recommend doing it over 2 days for any first timer its not worth screwing up the car just for bragging rights as to how fast you built it.

Hmmm.. i had one problem where it was difficult to twist the rod parts and the ones suspension too.
Also as for the wheel alignment, my steering adjustment rod was too short for one side, so it was fixed, done
But yeah, take your time i guess. Just that i was too excited!!
I wanted to race it the next day, well breaking in anyway that is.

The pack was 35.75 from radiomodels.com.au and I got an omni charger its really cheap at $65 for a peak detect charger can do between 1 and 10 cells from 100 - 4000mah

SP, i just said i wasnt gunna touch the compression, but thanks for the concern.
Dont race building your kits either, i built mine over 2 days. about a 4 hour stint then a 6 or 7 hour stint, but i had breaks in between.
Exspecially the big one when i went to find rubber glue, only to be told it is not necessary.
Thats the only part u don't HAVE to glue is the pads to the coupling i think it is.

Heaps.......Ive never run out with 600mah, i upgraded to 1100's
about a year ago you should get Hours out of them!
After use I discharge and then recharge to 40% power and thats the way I store them, then charge before use. If you have rechargeables in your handset you will probably have to remove them to recharge as most handsets have a diode that will stop the charger delta peaking and can overcharge.

That looks beastley with the blue in there

Though when you think of it, $80 for a belt tensioner that doesn't really have any special function is damn expensive, damn

The venom looks pretty good and with 1100mAH capacity, it should last a long while. But im not sure how you recharge these.
How do the chargers look like?
