The 710 was a prototype before the 705 was even put on the market. They just wanted more time to test and so they offered the 705 as a end of line evolution to the aging Impulse design.

The TP04 was a pipe good for bottom end. The TP05 was better in top end. The TP06 combines both. Itīs good both low and top.

So the TP06 is a stump-puller and a top-end screamer...

Hope it doesn't have a big black hole in between where mid-range is supposed to be.

Why don't you wait for the MS edition with the MCP P/S?

When I was trying to select the engine for my S710, I asked Serpent what would be better... the SX12 MCP or the newer SX12 SS 3P (#2106)

Rob Kuijper responded back to me that they are a little bit better success with the newer SX12 SS 3P (#2106). So that is what I got. With the TP06 1-pc pipe (#2170) hopefully will be a good combination.

Just some food for thought...

Sorry to come in late about this, but what's the deal on this new 'conical' manifold?
Why would I want to use this?
Will the stock header on the 2170 pipe (TP06) not be good?

Default Conical Header for .12

Hi Glenn,

good to see you posting !!

My experience with a conical header on a .12 is that the bottom end is not all that good but middle range and top speed is a little better, please note that clutch and carb setting gets more critical !
I would still go for the 2170 pipe system for the short to medium tracks, and give that conical header a try on longer tracks.

Note that the picture on the Border site is from a .21 header
no official pic's yet !?

When is this new engine coming out?
<sigh>... trying to keep up with these engines is darn near impossible...

I knew about Rob's leaving Serpent a while ago.
Rob, you are missed...
But glad to see you haven't disappeared forever!
