They look the goods... but I dont like how wide they make the car. I realy had to wrench on the balls to bring the track back under 200mm, and it caused the dogbones to bottom out in the outdrives and axle before the suspension reached full travel. The hex in the rim is also very tight when first put on the car. The actual rubber felt like it had no advantage from other tires

I will only use the couple of pairs I have. Then back to Speedmind. The ellegi is more expensive, and not worth the hassle in my opinion.

I guess those problems are setup problems that needs to be adjusted. Are you using a lot of spacers in the outdrives to take out most play in the dogbones? I think with the front diff with the trackwidth set up to 198 mm, you may not need to put any fuel tubings in the outdrives when using Ellegi rims.

I guess the reason why the hexes feel tight is due to the hole being very tight fitting. I use a bodyshell reamer to ream the plastic out a little when they are new out of the box to make the hole slightly bigger diameter. It fits perfect.

I find that the Ellegi rubbers last much longer than Speedminds for the same traction.

It was already mentioned earlier that the Ellegi tires will make the trackwidth about 1 mm wider than if you used Speedminds. For me, after I've set the trackwidth with the Ellegi tires (making sure no dogbones binding on suspension compression), I use lexan pieces cut out in the same shape as the hex to be used as spacers to space the Speedmind wheels back to 200 mm. A piece on each side of the wheel (on all 4 wheels) will suffice. One thing good about this is it spacers out the tendency of the Speedmind rim side rubbing the knuckles and making a groove.

So know, they were using same offset as "good-cheap, A-main World" tire ? :sneaky: :sneaky:

I dont use any spacers for the outdrives or dogbones.

I guess it depends on what diameter you run the tire too. I like to run them at box height (1-1.5mm smaller front) due to the size of the track Picard and I usually run on. So for my large tire diameter and ride height of 4mm the dogbone doesnt have as much room as a smaller tire setup.

This is what I suspect, too, but it physically can't be screwed in any further - it is hard up against the 22 gear.

Hmm, good point, the darker colour should mean more heat radiation and lead to a slightly cooler temp of the gases inside the exhaust - no idea how that affects the performance, though :D

:rolleyes: Obviously I'm not using Ti screws on this car, they are too heavy! :nod: instead these are Metal Matrix Composite screws much harder and lighter than the Ti screws, but to the untrained eye they look like standard screws, ehm, honest! :D
