Hey guys i have just replace the foam around the fuel tank lid and now it wont shut properly because the foam is too thick. Do i have to leave them to settle before use?

I thought Rene or Julius posted some kind of instructions on the mytsn 710 forum. But yes, just let it settle. But before settling, make sure the foam is very well centered in the cap so that when it closes, the foam piece is spread out evenly and equally around the tank hole opening.

I changed mine some time back DIY. Cut a piece of foam a friend passed to me which actually came from inside a cigarate box !

Ok, mystery solved - somehow the 17T copper coloured gear simply doesn't fit together with the 22T gear (or anyother for that matter). Check out the pic:

http://www.3hobby.com/modules/copper...03/17tGear.jpg

See how there is a built in shim on the copper coloured 17T, but also how it can't be screwed down sufficiently onto the other gear, therefore leaving a gap!
This leads to the bearings being too deep into the bell housing and the clutch gap being too small.

Report on its way to Serpent :D

Problem solved :D First class customer support at Serpent, means a new 17T gear is on its way already!!!

Hey Mark, did you exchange your "faulty" rear shock tower too?

So you had a lemon 17T? Is this isolated or are all bronze 1st gear pinions like that? I have never bought a 17T bronze pinion. Only a 16T if I recall and did not have any installation problems like you described...

Oh man! I forgot about the faulty shock tower which refuses to break as it is suposed to!!! And now I've got another one on my second 710 :flaming:

Not sure what the problem was with the 17T, Ronald simply said he would send me a new one.

Cheers, Mark.
