no real need bro. Just shim the bell untill it's free from contact on the shoe, then give it a gap of .4mm to .45mm and .05 to .1mm end play. tighten the spring flush with the pilot shaft nut when the spring is new then wind it in a little once the spring is worn in.

too easy.

i could only imagine how incredibly punchy the clutch would be with a red shoe and an alluminium clutch bell!

i found out the reason today, a bad front bearing. i replace it to a MAX WC and this time ... one more thing, i strip 1 1st and 3 2nd gear yesterday and i finally found out cause by the too sharp pinion gear problem gone after replace all spur/pinion gear. love to drive this car sorry, it's not a Benz, it's a TOYOTA CROWN from Japan.

Robert Pietsch is a true racer and he won the european championship with the MTX5 original clutch!

I will never use the Capricorn clutch on this car. Not saying that it´s not good. Just that there is no need.

Best regards

Default MTX 5 Diff Gears

Has anyone worked out if NT1 or other manufacturers diff gears fit the MTX 5. I am looking for steel or alloy diff gears to fit the MTX5.

the xray gears will fit in, although they are thinner then the mugen gears so they need shimming to achieve the correct mesh. I am still working on the exact shim sizes to achieve the best result, i will let you know when and if i get it right

I tried the NT1 gears. I stripped a set due to incorrect spacing. I now have a set of Shepherd gears that I have yet to install. I'll post my findings.

It's not just the Capricorn clutch which makes for the tremendous acceleration but it's the entire car.
The clutch has a big part in the massive acceleration though, but the driveline weight and efficiency also plays it's part.

At this moment Capricorn doesn't have a clutch which will fit the MTX-5.
