Seems like a good solution untill Mugen has a real solution so you can do 1000laps on a spur and have to replace it because its totally worn out, not because it stripped.(NT1:))

Hello.
I was at Cassino for the 2012 European warm-up with my mtx5.
My purpose was not competition but absolutely do, for my own satisfaction, to experiment with mtx5.
no problem crowns or friction (with game strain-bell 0.65) in that game 2 broken crowns.
the big problem, which is not easy to solve, is in the bending of the frame when braking.
I had to change the frame, was a real banana.
if they can solve this problem without affecting the current structure of the machine (such as a brake type sheperd). the machine will be very competitive.
:-)

Hi.

I made a simple change to the car that works really good as far as braking power.

I changed the little silicone tube in the brake link (that softens the braking) to a hard plastic tube (actually, antena tube).

With this I have enough brakes with little servo/chassis movement/bending.

Just my two cents.

Best regards.

we did change plastic gears when we set up new engine/clutch/pinions for easter racing nsw but did about250 laps then and gears are good we have only striped 2 second gears/worn pinions/engine out of line in all the racing in last 8 mounts/1 chassi replaced

Anyone have a setup for a high traction track? Got a trophy race this weekend and they are going to spray vht.

Profoxcg 06-16-2012 09:28 AM

can someone give me a comparizon, or tell me why this car is better than a serpent 474?
I am just doing some research and while I like the layout of the MTX5, it seem that the car is unreliable in regards to the gears stripping or am I reading wrong?

I like the fuel tank, very low profile compared to other cars. This is good to keep the CG low, but how practical is it to your buddy in the pits?

Profoxcg,if you can wait for the 1/10 IC On Road World Championship there will be your answer for what is the best car(my bets are 1st Pietsh (sp?)and S747 2nd,C02 or R4 one would win if no one else shows up),for the other questions:gear stripping on the Mugen since the MTX4 seems to be common but it's just proper building of gearbox, clutch and motor alignment, don't expect that pinions last forever. No problems with the tank and refueling.Oh,try the brakes with a spring instead of fuel tubing.

Because they are racing , and doing great by the way.
Gearstripping resolved by putting them thight. (don`t mind the grinding noises, it will losen just enough with racing the car.)

Servo saver

Has anyone had a problem with the servo saver not staying straight.? No matter how tight I make the tension on the spring, there is still play

Absolutely there IS a problem.
T2303B needs to be sanded down a bit the cam on T2303A does not seat on the cam of T2303B
If to take it apart and just hold the two together with your fingers you will feel some movement between the two parts. It is a real simple fix. Sand the top face of the T1303B and make the cylindrical section a bit shorter so the two cams can touch. Its not much only 0.5mm or 1mm Max.
I have checked this on all the 5s I have come across even the newer kits are still faulty and even the new parts too. But it will take all of 5mins to fix.
