The ones from the GT1 & GT2 are identical and are the "helical cut" gears.

All the GT's come stock with the helical cut gears from Kyosho.

We racers have adapted the 777 parts because most of the parts are interchangeable to the GT; remember the GT is really just basically a 7.5 buggy.

BD races are on Sundays not Saturdays.
But Saturdays is a good practice day
what about Kyois101 its half the price compared to kyoif106? both are 43tooth straight cut...but is the other side diffferent?

I have not used the KYO101, but the picture shows the gears at a angle not straight like the KYOIS106.

Try it you might be on to something, but I have Never stripped the KYOIS106

This is the KYOIS106 "Straight"

I could never find one when I built my car, I ended up using the dog bone.

For those who like to be different ....here are pics of my Hot Bodies D8-based GT.

Front and rear clips are stock D8, center gear uses Kyosho GT1 modded uprights and top brace, stock GT1 shaft and drive cups, Evolva 1st/2nd spurs, shoes and 2nd gear holder, and the stock GT1 1st gear one way. The only mod to the shifter is to ream out the center hole of the 1st gear spur, and to drill and tap two additional 3mm holes in the one way to mount the first gear - very easy to do. No mods to the GT1 shaft is required. The car uses a GT2 100mm front dogbone, and a 95mm GT1 rear dogbone. The radio tray is stock GT1, and the tank is a 150cc D8T tank. The front and rear body mounts are GT1, and the front center post is from a Losi 8T. The front bumper, bumper mount and foam were fabbed by me.

The chassis was also fabbed by me, and is 5mm longer than the stock D8. I also kept the front flat - no kickup - which required me to make the top steering post mount as well. The chassis is genuine US-made 3.2mm 7075.

My design goals were to make a car that is strong and reliable, easy to work on, was slightly longer than stock but no where near GT2 length, used a straight center dogbone arrangement for a free rolling drivetrain, had the weight more rear end biased to help with traction and had no front kickup. So far I have been happy with the car on all those points. My original front bumper mounting was not properly designed, and I have to tweak a few hardware bits to get everything working properly - just typical new-car stuff. Since there were no D8 setups to refer to, and since I was new to onroad myself, I have been sorting out the setup details but the car is starting to work real well, and feels easy to drive. I have tried to get the stock D8 10/43 diff gearing to work, but I am giving up on that next because it is too hard to get the right ratios for the final drive. It could be done, but it will be easier to just run 13/43 diff gears, and standard kind of clutch/spur ratios.

I've really been enjoying the car, and the racing in the class. Dare to be different...

I like it.
This is what the class is all about.
Can't wait to see it on the track.

One thing nice about these converted cars is the parts strength.
