I use the m2c clutch and on my backup engine I have the Werks clutch. I use the Tekno clutch bell or Serpent clutch bell.
I have just fitted the vented Serpent clutch bell to try out. But to use a standard size clutch bell you'd have to shim the flywheel too far forward.

as far as the aluminum and Losi springs Mo probably had extra losi stuff and since they interchange might as well use it up.
Yes the Serpent bells fit, but there is no compelling reason to use them unless
you want to use 5 x 10 bearings.
I suggest you pick up a package of these to help with shimming if your gonna
try other bells. They go in between the nose of the crank and the step
washer.

Buggy done and ready for this weekend truggy getting there.

Center diff rebuilt with new brake cams, shoes and PSM rotors. I have the
Tekno Fiber rotors also but I wanted to give these a try.

I struggled with getting enough braking power last year so this year I've been using the new offset cams, steel shoes and those PSM rotors (same setup as JsK) and it's been a drastic improvement. Plenty of brakes now!

I am interested in trying them back to back with the Tekno discs. Only have two tuneup races at Silver dollar before the Nats so I need to get as much testing done this weekend as possible.

I'm running all aluminum Tekno shoes and 2x1.0 springs (gold) and 2x1.1 springs (red). The motor has to rev up pretty good to get the shoes to engage. It happens at the beginning of a run and when accelerating. Coming out of a turn, I can hear the motor revving (a little too much), but the car speed isn't matching. Then, all of a sudden, the shoes catch and the car takes off. The motor has a pop from idle, but the car doesn't. Do I need to replace the shoes and springs or do I need to go with harder springs? Anybody else experience this? I'm new to nitro and everybody is telling me the clutch is too soft. I thought so too until I realized I was running gold and red springs.
When should I replace the shoes and springs (every gallon)? For me, it's hard to tell when the shoes are worn. Never dealt with nitro before.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Has any body been able to get another body to fit, i no proline just made a body for the nt48 but i don't like it, i love the stock body but its just a little weak for my liking. Does any body no if there is a FTW body that will mount up without much modification.

FTW is out of buisness from what I heard. If you go over to the ET-48 thread there was some pics of a stock body cut out with a bit of material left in key locations that the stock body tends to crack in.

Good engine choice. I use the X7's and they are beasty. I have not used an X5 yet though, however they seem to be just as awesome at the X7.

Inspected the clutch. The shoes on the gold springs showed a lot of mushrooming. Even scrapped the flywheel. The shoes on the red springs showed no mushrooming. I went to all gold springs and new shoes. Those shoes only had one practice session on them for about 15 min (sat) since I last dremeled them. They seem to mushroom very easily.. I hope that fixes it tho. Looks like only two shoes were engaging until I really revved the motor.
I know the bell sticks out about as far as it can, but it would be nice if the shoes had a little bit more space between them and the flywheel.
