Ok guys I have narrowed my new buggy search down to 2 cars. This one or the HB d812.

Can any one here who has actually driven the HB d812 convince me as to why I should buy the Tekno NB48

Prefer a full blown no holes barred ducks gutz explanation.

I doubt there is any car at this point I haven't driven. What's your driving style like?

coming from ON road so would probably describe it as point and shoot. ( hard in under brake, roll around apex, feed on throttle. no showy stuff like power slides and rear hanging out spraying dirt

Has anyone tried Kyosho Shocks on the NB48 ? I have a brand new set I had from my RC8.2 laying around.

I have run them on the eb48. It took a little adapting to make it all work exactly right. but I found a really good way to make it all work like it was meant for the tekno. I can find the parts list when I get home tonight. It's like $10 of miscellaneous stuff but let's you swap back and forth between the K shocks and the stock super easy.

Of course both of these cars can be setup to fit your driving style. Both have many options and the ability to significantly adjust the geometry on the car.

That said, in general the Hot Bodies will be a little more stable. Like the Kyosho, it is a 'long arm' buggy (refering to the front end). To me, the car really feels like you can just throw it hard into a corner and usually itll stick. It has great traction overall. For someone with a heavy throttle finger this might be the better option.

The Tekno on the other hand reminds me of the Losi buggy (beyond the similar suspension setups and drivetrain layouts) in that it likes to be driven with precision, is extremley nimble, and is capable of some very fast laps without being pushed very hard. It reminds me more of a 4wd buggy feel rather than a truggy feel that some other buggies have. The difference in my opinion to the TLR is the Tekno car can be pushed out of its 'comfort zone' a little more and still stay stable and turn good laps. Great for when youre fighting for the lead or a position on the track.

Obviously I love the Tekno cars and how well they handle, but one of the biggest advantages to them to me isnt even the car itself. Its the team supporting It. Matt and Daniel work non stop with guys like Ryan and Joe as well as the average driver to create a car that is fastest for everyone, in every situation. The never ending testing and devleopment really caught my eye when I was switching brands, and thats why im here now.

What are you trying to accomplish with the Kyosho shocks instead of the stockers? Just curious.

Not really trying to accomplish anything other than bling. The kyosho shocks are so pretty new :-)

Stock tekno shocks with delrin inserts will outperform K shocks, so no reason to make another frankencar, leave it for ae guys)

This thing rips so hard now. Can't beleive how much control I have in the air. The Merica flag stiker helped the motor gain 2hp. To rad broskies

Thinking about getting back into nitro with a tekno buggy to match my eb48. Haven't read much nitro news lately. are there any rumors of an updated n-buggy?

There is no official word of an updated kit yet, but the extinct stock of the EB/NB says there is something on the horizon. Also the fact that Lutz and Bornhorst were both running updated parts on their cars at the Dirt show that its definitely a realistic possibility.

I think the kit could just be updated with some new parts like the closed arms

An update would mostly consist of new front and longer rear arms, rear hubs, rear sway bar, and shock towers that are slightly shorter and wider.
