Guys me and my son are having trouble keeping the flywheel locked down on my nb and his nt. I used blue loktite and they still came loose. do you have to use a crank stopper to get them not to come loose?

I had that problem desertracer. I ended up getting a pair of channel locks and a socket wrench and put some muscle on it. Hasn't some loose since.

the nut is the same size as your glow plug so you can use that driver. I use a set of multi grips on the flywheel and just do it up as tight as you can it is just about holding the fly wheel tight while doing up the nut. |
Thanks guys..

If you do use locktite, make sure you get both the crank and nut threads super clean. Any dirt, oil, or dried locktite will compromise the thread lock.

10mm? The nut is 8mm. Get a 8mm T-handle and crank it down as hard as you can.

Oh my bad. Been a while since i've had to tear down an engine.

This may be due to the brass flywheel collet collapsing before it can get tight on the crankshaft. The little slot on the collet is probably not wide enough. You have two options - 1. grab a dremel and a cutting wheel and make the slot wider or 2. contact our customer support and we can send out a flywheel collet with a wider slot. For anyone else having weird engine issues (i.e. running hot, clutch feels like it's slipping, clutch assembly coming loose), the flywheel collet may be the issue. Please take a look at the collet and if it appears that the flywheel is slipping, make the slot in the collet wider. |
