Kind of a dumb question, but I can't find the answer. what is the stock spur gear on the 8.2? I have an 8B that I am slowly upgrading and wonder what spur gear to get. I have a couple 13t CB and a few 16t. I have been running the 16t with the stock 8B spur. where would be a good place to start if I want to run the 13t?

thanks for the help.

Stock gearing is 16/44 I wouldn't know where to start with a 13t clutch bell. You'd have to use something like a 40t spur which i don't think AE make. It depends on what track you run on but generally 17/44 is always very good or 17/46.

thats for the 8B right? or is it the same for both? Would I get about the same performance if I went to 50/13?

For the 8B or .2 . No you wouldn't get anywhere near the same performance. The gearing you've suggested would give you crazy acceleration and not much top end. Bigger the Clutch bell more overall speed, slower acceleration. Smaller CB less overall speed but quicker acceleration. Smaller spur is the same as a bigger CB. Bigger spur is the same as a smaller CB. Just because you change the clutch bell doesn't mean you have to change the spur at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If any of you nitro guys are looking for a matching electric, I am selling mine. I was in the process of converting my RC8Be into an RC8.2e during the time when there was worlds geometry and 8.2 geometry and have since decided to do more nitro and keep my other 1/8 electric buggy.

Anyway here is an RC8Be with BCE chassis and worlds geometry for sale. This is an awesome handling buggy.

I know this is something a lot of us are against using including me but try a drop of red locktite on the bottom screws. Thats something I've started using recently and I've had better sucess with these screws not backing out. I also periodically check them through out the day on race day just to be on the safe side.

Clean the screws with motor spray or degreaser. Then apply a little. If you put to much it will get into everything and make a big mess. Binding the steering. Making a mess to get apart also.

I've always used blue and don't remember the last time one came out. Usually only when I take it apart.

If your having problems with screws that are backing out even with thread- locker your not cleaning your screws our parts before assembly. New screws are coated with machining oil to keep them from corrosion-rust. New parts that are threaded typically have some type of oil applied during the taping- threading process. Thread lockers will not work in the presence of these oils, know matter what color you use. Clean your hardware and parts with brake clean before applying thread lock.

Everytime I remove any screw that requires loctite I clean it pryor to reinstalling it. I havent had this backing out problem on my 8.2 but on my rc8T and when I had my 8B. Ive talked to a couple of team drivers who said theyve had this problem on there 8.2s and have switched to using red loctite.
