How do I get the slop out of my wheels? I own 3 other Losi's and now they get loose but this T i just picked up has more than i've ever seen. The wheel will wobble about 1/4inch side to side. Looks horrible rolling at slow speed of free wheeling in the air. I've replaced the bearings, hexes, hubs, axles, linkages and its still there. Even tried different rims to see if the wheel hexes were out.

I must have overlooked something, what else gets loose and worn that would create this much slop.

You can shim between outside bearing and hex to get rid of a little slop. I think the 8mm shims is what you need, cant remember off top of my head. I use shims on my buggy.

My truck is dialed IMO. I have maybe 3.4 gallons on it at the moment and I still have play. I have tried to shim it up, and it was horrible. The losi has play and IMO runs WAY better with the play than with out. I believe its made to flex and have a bit of play.

It takes like 3 mins for real.. I didnt even remove the horn from the tray... whole set up cost me 6 bucks..

I also threw bearings on the break linkage to. Avid has the bearings for $1 a peice and not the $23 for 4 like losi wants.

Wheels are going all the way on each side, the pipe wire doesnt touch and i have the old blocks. What is about the knuckle mod?

Did you check the servo saver? If the wheels aren't touching the ground they will go all the way but when you put in on the track and there is weight on the wheels the servo saver will flex because its too loose.

I had the same symptoms you are having and I was about to go buy a new servo but I was told to check the ss and that was the problem. I have the stock blocks and am running the same servo as you and my truck turns awesome.

+1
I used 3 Avid bearings on each car. Throttle is waaaay better now. With all that slop it was a guessing game when I pulled the trigger.

You take a dremal and mill down where the knuckle contacts the caster block. You only need to do 2 or 3 mm at most. Any more than that and your arms start to hit the wheels and scrub speed when fully locked.

I took a silver sharpie marker and marked it. After I ground the first one, I mesured it and tried to get the other side exactly the same.

Here is a pic. The left is modded and the right is the stock one.

Mind you I dont have my buggy in front of me but is this mod necessary with aluminum?

Its not nessasary. But I know a lot of people that run the Inclined Spindles do this to gain back most of the steering you loose. Mose so in Truggy than in Buggy.

I still run the plactics and did it just to see if would help at a couple of the tighter tracks around here. It made a world of difference. I can stand in one spot and the truck will circle me just bairly missing my feel all the way around. The radius is much tighter now. It gives you more throw which helps for more steering on and off throttle.

That looks like a good one. You could even use that same one for your steering. Around 300 oz/in is really all you need even if the track is high bite.
