Ok here is a question for every/any one.

Who runs a 50 tooth spur on their truck. If not a 50, what do you run.

I bring this up as this weekend, I had a rock get up and chew my spur up and cracked my bell. I had another bell but nobody even the LHS didnt have a 48 tooth spur. So I put in the brand new 50T that came with the truck.
To my amaizment, the gear mesh was perfect, my clutch was ready to rock and I headed out for the main only to run with 2 of the fastest guys around. We were seperated by 1 secon for 15 minutes of a 20 minute main. That was untill I got tangled with a lapper and the marshall grabbed me by the side plugging the exaust and ending my great run.

so with a 14t bell a 50t spur you get a ratio of 3.57. with a 48t spur you get 3.42
My question is this. Does .15 really make that much of a difference in gearing. Or was it just racing being racing?

gen III radio tray linkage help

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to assist me in getting my linkages set correctly with the new radio tray. I seem to have trouble with the t/b linkage not returning fully after WOT. Also the t/b linkage struggles to fully extend the carb without hitting the servo rod. Should I follow the standard brake linkage setup as per the manual or will this be redundant with the new tray?

Setting it up is pretty easy. Just adjust the turnbuckle untill the line on the tri-horn is lined up to the one on the tray. after that, set your throttle linkage collet, then your break rods. You may need to adjust the collets to the manuals lengths. After all that is done, check and set you EPAs. To get you throttle to close, use a return spring or rubber band to help it. Easy and cheap. And it works just in case the eyelet falls off or something wierd happens.

Most importantly, make sure nothing is binding. pull the horn off the servo and check it goes both directions by hand.

I run 50/14 and love it. Makes my truck easier to drive for me.

2013 or 2058 would be my choices.

Clockwork has both 2013 and 2058 in stock.

You cant go wrong with either one. The 2013 is a low end pipe and the 2058 is more of a top end pipe. Since Off road racing is very rairly wide open top speed, a low end to mid range pipe is prefered and offers more power where it is used more.

I personnaly run the 2013 on both my B5 in truck and B6 in buggy. I like the way it feels as the engine moves thru thr RPM range. Great torque and smooth feeling. It would be my recomendation.

Track Time!!!

Can't wait for a practice day at the track tomorrow! Just got some new calibers to try out and I am hoping they hook up! Track is hard pack and will be dusty and loamy as the day wears on, before they prep it for race time! When I win the lottery a track on my huge property is up there on the list of stuff to spend my cash on!!!
