another thing I have discovered to check is dont overtighten the middle diff top plate screws as the rear one closest to engine causes the brake posts to be locked on and needs to be backed off slightly until it is free...was same on truggy and buggy.

Not sure. Heard of a couple people breaking them in the buggy. IMO it's probably from chassis flex and the new stiffer plastic/design.

Yeah my T 2.0 was like that and my buggy as well. I ended up tightening them until snug and then backing all 4 screws off about 1/2 -3/4 turn.

Also it's a good idea to put some loctite on all the set screws in the throttle/brake linkages and also on the swaybar mounts on the arms.

I bought a package of the losi 5/40x1" screws and they wouldn't thread correctly into the camber links. Guess it's possible I got a bad batch of screws...? So I ended up putting some loctite on the stockers until I can get another set.

I had this problem as well. Measured the new screws against the old screws. The new screws were .003" thicker on the od of the threaded portion. I sanded the new screws down to the same thickness but this did not help. I concluded that the new anodizing is slightly thicker in the threaded portion of the ball. I chased the threads with a 5-40 tap and success. The new screws threaded right in free as can be. The threads are the same, but the anodizing was slightly thicker. Chasing the threads corrected the problem.

Maybe we should try removing the anodizing from the 2.0 balls to get it to fit. Yes, I also noticed the difference in color between the stock screws and 1" BH screws I purchased.

TIX 03-06-2009 06:22 PM

anodising is only microns thick. so it wont help
also if you do remove it they will wear very quickly

I can confirm the 1" BH screws DO thread into the 1.0 flanged suspension balls. Bought new packages of both, and they work.

You need to remove splashes around bottom holes for brake posts. After that you can tighten all screws.

l3asher i think you will have no problems. i just did the mod to a set of aluminum spindles because i broke one and i didnt want to keep modding so i figured that would be a one time shot. plus king headz will have their hubs with the bigger bearings out soon. i will get them and just have the losi spindles anodized black to match.

LOL

I knew someone would steal my idea and make it as a hopup part soon.
At least Kingheadz will do a good job of it.
I bet i wont see any of the profits from them stealing my idea
