I kinda feel the same way. I find myself replacing them so often recently that I haven't been doing the mod. I used to run the tanks longer and it really helped then. Made a big difference on the 1.0 tanks too.

never did it on the 1.0's. Im anal about air leaks so i replace the pressure line and exhaust springs/seals about every 2-3 weeks and i replace the tank about every gallon which is about 3-4 weeks

That seems excessive to me. Replacing the tank every gallon but you got to have a plan. I just go with whenever it looks like it needs replacing.

I don't know that I replace mine every gallon, but pretty often. Every couple big races. I change the line in the tank once or twice, then change the whole tank. I don't like air leaks!!!;)

I use only the clear/white losi line. If the tank comes with the bluish line in it(some do) I change that immediately. The blue tinted line is too soft for inside the tank. The clear line is much firmer.;)

The kyosho tubing works well too and fits the hole in the tank too.

i know it can seem excessive but that one item is cheap and cuts down having an air leak big time IMO,

Whole tank.

Out of the few years I've had Losi buggies, 1.0 and 2.0, I would go 1 year each on the 1.0 tank, and I have almost a year on the 2.0 tank. After each race or practice day I would take the fuel tank out and clean it and check to see if there are any leaks and there never is any. The only thing that does wear out is the o ring and spring.

Ghost flame outs a lot of times r caused from glow plugs usuallyI that have one coil that is not lighting, and/ or clutch bearing, clutch spring, clutch shoe, engine bearings, before there is a tank air leak.

tanks isnt the only thing i change. plugs are changed often, shoes are maintained after every night, tko clutch bearings rule they usually last the life of the clutch, and i keep an eye on my clutch bearings. you dont see me flame usually do you? if i do 99% of the time its low idle

aznitronut 08-24-2010 07:54 PM

That wasn't meant for you douglas, just a general rule, although, i have seen new plugs come out of the package that were bad. I have been doing this for close to 20 years, i have seen just about e everything possible happen to rc car engines, so just an observation, trying to help a guy out with a problem.
