nice but I would hate that to be my truggy lol. The guys running the B5's must have been running way to rich or don't know how to tune hehehe.

It was tuned the mileage just dropped off when the truggy got heavy. It wasnt rich, if anything it was lean. Just how that engine is. Dont take it personal.

Frank I don't even know what to say other than have fun cleaning that truggy!:lol:

It took 20-30 mins with a hose3 and a brush after I pulled the electronics and engine out. Now I gotta replace some bearings, service the diffs and ready to roll. Well worth it for the 3 hour race. And no we didnt win came in 3rd. a controversial 3rd but thats what the race director called it so thats how the cookie crumbles.

Sounds like a lot of fun actually! I'd run one if we had any around here.

HAHA never but I have 2 of them and I can tell you that is not the way that engine is. I get a very easy 11min run on a rich tune, and 12 to 13 min when leaned for race. I know adding all that weight from mud changes things but not that much that they are only getting 7:30 and the speed was getting 10min. I call bs but don't take that personal:p

We ran 2 OS speed engines both had 6-7 gallons on them or more the first one ran for 2 hours and still ran good. We swapped to another OS speed as one of the team members wanted to. The first engine has 1/2 for the life still left in the clutch shoes. I havent taken the 2nd engine apart yet. The truck just needs bearings and diff service its still good to go. I ran the hell out of it at the nitro challenge and same thing. These trucks are tough. And the engines are both still running strong. Sooo I dont know where you are coming from saying such things. Its gotta be you wish you were there. :D

last time i try and blast my bearings, and re-oil them. they didn't last 1/2 gallon since i tried to "service" them.

back to brand new one time use $1 bearings.

on a side note.. when checking p/s pinch, the theory of the engine holding its own weight by balancing it by holding the flywheel.. is that with the pipe mounted?

For $1 toss them and put in new ones its not worth the headache.

+1, just replace with new, as for the pinch test, thats not a good theory to go by!!!

The pinch test is without the pipe installed, but really isn't a good indication of the condition of an engine.;)
