Not sure where you got that info, but we don't have plans for a new buggy and Kevin was running a std. buggy with the new inclinded spindles and castor blocks. Mike and I were also using the new blocks.

Yeah I was the guy who somewhat confronted Adam on this topic on the Losi forums. I really just want to know the truth since I purchased an 8ight 2.0 Race Roller a month ago and I am picking up my new 8ight-T 2.0 Race Roller today. I am going to be angry if they are obsolete in 6 months or less.

Now if they just change some of the parts (like the EU) and offer these parts at a reasonable price, or better yet as a complete upgrade kit, then I will be less pissed. They just need to make sure that they support us, the grassroots racer.

The odd part is I totally understand that they are probably under a confidentiality agreement that won't allow them to talk about new products. But this doesn't mean that they need to straight out lie about it either.

IF indeed a new buggy is hitting soon, you would think that Adam and other team drivers would just avoid the questions rather than flat out saying that a new product is not coming. If afterwards we find out a new buggy is hitting within 5 months, then Losi will look like they are misleading their customers and that does not bode well for a company that depends on brand loyalty.

I worked in high tech sales and marketing, and I just do not understand what is going on with Losi at all. If the rumors are true (and they seem to be) then I think Losi is going to have a PR nightmare down the road with lots of pissed off customers. Many will jump ship to other brands. I am sure many others (probably the majority) will just suck it up and buy the new stuff and Losi is probably counting on this. Maybe the consider losing a number of pissed off racers an acceptable loss.

Or maybe all of the rumors and first hand accounts are inaccurate. I really wish we had all the facts at this point.

No company is going to tell you that a new product is coming before the press release. It would be stupid for them to announce something that they didn't want to be announced yet. Even if there is a new car on the horizon, no one that wants to keep their job at losi is going to give you any answer other then "no plans currently". They did the same thing with the 2.0 truggy last year. The buggy had already been out and they still claimed "no plans for a new truck" when everyone KNEW it was coming. So either way, whether there is a new buggy coming or not, they are going to tell you no.

I totally agree. But they don't have to answer the questions either. They could answer, "I haven't heard anything about a new vehicle." rather than, "No new vehicle is coming." I understand that this is semantics, but it makes a big difference to give a concrete answer which could be proven to be a complete lie. They would be much better served to respond in a vague open-ended way if indeed a new product is immanent.

If they leave it open like that it is a sure sign that something IS coming. See they have to dismiss it or people will know. Drake is like the big R&D guy at losi. If he posted "I haven't heard anything" that would be a lie too, and would indicate to anyone intelligent that something new was coming. You see? It's going to be a lie either way, and the best route to take is to just not ask the question. You had to know he wasn't going to provide you with any information. Asking that question just puts him on the spot and does no real good.

I look at it like this, who cares? Even if they do release a new vechile and you bought a 2.0 b/t the day before the release, you're good. Why do people need the biggest baddest thing out there? 1.0 and 2.0 are proven winners from local club races all the way to the big races. You're still gonna have awesome parts availabilty, awesome customer support, preety much any track you go to somebody's runnin one so you can get parts in a bind, and loads of aftermarket parts. If they release new models, sweet!!! If not, ya still got a awesome buggy/truggy:nod:

Yo, I just dont see Adam saying NO which is a definite answer to a question. If he was not able to release information then: 1.he say we always have stuff in the works. 2. dont say nothing. 3. oh you know we are always looking to improve our porduct.

But Adam said, There is no new 8..............

I dont think he would have given that answer if they were really coming out with one.

I agree. If a new product does come out after him saying it in that manner, he will look really badly.
