I doubt there is a new 8ight or 8ight-T coming out soon.
He was asked, "Adam, can you put a rumor to rest about losi coming out with a new 8ight line? Everyone seems to think losi is cleaning house with the $150 rebate to make room for a new line up. Any truth to this?" Adam Drake officially responded, "No plans for a new 8ight line." (From the official Losi forums, here: http://forum.losi.com/showthread.php?t=23&page=39 ) I would expect he wouldn't have responded to the question if a new one was coming out. That way he wouldn't be providing bad information, he would just be providing no information. If they do come out with new products after he said this, there could be a ton of pissed off folks! |

That's what I have been figuring all along. No need for a new platform, but some of the new "hop up" parts would be nice to have standard. And hopefully a KIT form. The whole Race Roller thing really bothers me. I would much rather build the kit myself and know it's done right. It takes twice as long to tear the roller down and rebuild it as it does to just build a kit.

what more can they do wheelbase, and length maximized updated chassis, geometry, and added ALU parts with added tuning configurations maybe if they plan to release.
Drake comment hes under contract that would hinder its sales for the rebate wouldn't be a smart move. |

i would say being under contract that he can't say anything. i also think i remember him saying there wasn't any plans for a 2.0 truck when the buggy came out. i would say its just that he's not allowed to say if there were plans for a new 8ight line.
You ask that question of him, and the answer will always be no, until it is released officially. |

Not sure where you got that info, but we don't have plans for a new buggy and Kevin was running a std. buggy with the new inclinded spindles and castor blocks. Mike and I were also using the new blocks. |
eight 2.1? The Euro car has most of the new stuff, it would be nice to have one here, (adjustable hinge pin braces, aluminum center diff mount, bleeder shock caps come to mind)
On another note anyone run the smart diff? need more off power steering for the tight indoor track. I think the extra weight of the E is where my push is coming from. |
You guys have to remember that LOSI is always working on the newest and greatest. I would bet money that their R&D team is constantly working on the new buggy and truggy - what about the xxx line, I bet they have stuff. They probably started as soon as they released the 2.0 line.
I simply think that the rebate is just to increase sales, in this economy. It they were coming out with a new buggy or truggy, they would have also had rebates on the RTR stuff. Plus, I have a pretty good Losi contact and we talk daliy, I find out all kinds of stuff before the fact and I just have not heard anything about a new buggy or truggy. And to trackstarlosi - the buggy I think has always been introduced first followed by the truggy months later.... So I would be VERY surprised if anyone comes out with a truggy first..... Buggies Rule.. |
